Just spoke to Tom: He was just about to hit the Hudson River so should be in to work soon.

He said he turned his proxies on, but would check it out as soon as he got in to work.

Bonderman went through, as did CATom's and SgtD's proxies; we're now up to Mark (Kramed77429).

Just talked to Mark; wife is horribly ill and he's home watching his kids today. He'll try to get to the site ASAP, but he couldn't even talk long to me on the phone when I called.

I see Mark picked and I made my pick :D . I think I got good value with Lugo and Bernie Williams 8) . Hey BK, Last night I thought I was in the movie "The Rock" when you told me to stand down (when the seal team enters the bathroom and the bad guys are above them). SGT D

If Bernie's your DH, he's a bargain, Sarge, and I can't image where else you might be putting him with that OF you built already.

So far, on paper, looks to me like my bro Mark's got the best team....we'll see. I like the Sarge and Meat's squads a lot, but no pitching AT ALL and there are very few quality hurlers left....bargains, maybe, but having a bargain as your ace is dicey....

All my teams have been less than dicey so that must be a good sign  . Bernie will be a DH, we know his OF is shakey at best. I have no Pitching yet, and that will haunt me  . On the other hand, I have some players who do not get injured :D , so they can watch my SP get shelled  . SGT D

Maybe I should keep on taking starting pitching and then squeeze you guys 'til you scream in trades.

Nah.

My best wishes for the health of Mark's wife. I woke up to Screeching Wife because the puppy pooped all over the downstairs hall. It was this kind of thick tarry stuff I'd never seen come out of anything's asshole before. Not that I spend a lot of time watching assholes work. Guess we still have to leave the back door open.

Now, that's really hilarious. It expurgates the singular, but not the plural? OK, gotta try it: fucks, shits.

(sigh)

OK, looks like we're back on track. CWolfson's up, and I don't care where he lives; four hours (1:25 ET) and then the next guy picks if he hasn't.

I'm thinking $54 is REALLY LOW. We're all going to have a slew of fifty centers and such to round out our team....Prolly shoulda started at $62, like we did w/ the NL....

I think the $54 million was based on the AL having 14 teams' worth of players - NL had 16 teams; the proportions between salary and teams are basically even.

Guys, I can't get to these new boards very easy at work and honestly have not read much of them.

I was under the impression we were going with a similar cap like the last league and thus, was picking some High $ players.

I now read the rules :( and saw I was in trouble w/ my El Duque pick so I quickly e-mailed Barry to approve my drop of him.

The next guy had NOT yet picked so I hope that this is not a problem w/ anyone....if it is, I'll just re-aquire El Duque and move on.

Sorry for the drop because it knocks him out of many a proxy if you had him....you will need to proxy him again if you wanted him.

I'll make an effort to check in here more often - since now the other boards are going down fast.
