DH: Odd numbered season (this is season #1)


PRESEASON
INITIAL DRAFT: 6 round serpentine draft on the ILC boards, order randomized by a non-participant.

WHAT TO DRAFT: Teams. There are 74 ATG teams. We will draft 72. The other 2 will be unused (at least for season 1). Draft a team from any era (EXAMPLE: CLE-db and CLE-post are two different teams).

HOME PARK: Stadium will be from one of your 6 teams and can change each season.


TEAM NAMES: Create a name you're willing to carry the entire run (these ARE franchises, remember?).

IN-SEASON
MOVES: Player movement prior and during the season by trades and use of your own FA pool (6 teams you draft). Trades can be uneven (ie 3 for 2, 2 for 1) or even (1 for 1, 2 for 2), but must be within 10% of the greater amount. For example, Team 1, 3 players 20.00M in exchange for Team 2, 2 players 18.00M is OK. If team 2 was 17.99M, not OK. **Trades must be confirmed by another league member not involved in the trade.**


POST SEASON
PLAYER REVERSION: All traded players revert back to the original owner when the season ends.

KEEPERS: When season 1 ends, each owner will declare 2 teams that they may keep.

NEXT (AND SUBSEQUENT) SEASON SETUP:
DRAFT: A 4 round draft on the ILC boards from the remaining 50 teams. Draft order for season 2 and subsequent seasons will be the order of finish in the previous season. The 4 round draft will be NFL style 1-12, 1-12 (worst record to league champ).

DIVISIONS:Divisions for season 2 and subsequent seasons, by record, worst to champ, East (4 worst records), Central (4 best records, non-playoff teams), West (4 playoff teams).

LEAGUE RUN: 3-4 seasons per year, every 3-4 months. League may end when ATG5 comes out unless there is a way to transition from ATG4 to ATG5.

Cap size may be brought up for discussion each season (except season for season 1).

For first year, the divisions simply being:

EAST=1,2,3,4
CENTRAL=5,6,7,8
WEST=9,10,11,12

I know there's a typical configuration, but we've already been randomized, and this seems simple enough.

So you are under no obligation to relenquish 2 of your teams throughout the term of the league?

Not sure if that's entirely fair, but if that's the rules, so be it.

You designate your two keepers each year, yes. It will be fair. If you pick a stronger overall franchise, you still have to keep track of cap. And no franchise is perfect. My Cohort keeper league had one Exp keeper, and a set of different draft teams every year. No one was interested in it, though, because the rules were too detailed, I guess.

By the way, if you'll notice, each subsequent year the four strongest finishers end up in the same division the next year, so that should balance the league quite a bit.

This whole league has me thinking of variations on similar leagues. For example drafting six teams, then each year running randomizer to see which three teams you can use (THAT would be interesting, for sure).
