Awards criteria, the Morgan vs. Hornsby case

Interesting stuff here. Here is the awards page from a league I'm in:

[b:a83d05e5de]AWARDS VOTING[/b:a83d05e5de]

MVP AWARD
W.Mays(DOU) 392
L.Gehrig(ETH) 357
R.Yount(DOU) 213
J.Morgan(DOU) 137
R.Hornsby(DIA) 99

However, in the All Star selections, Hornsby leads Morgan:
2B R.Hornsby(DIA) 3,137,355 J.Morgan(DOU) 2,660,607

In the Silver Slugger selections, Hornsby also leads Morgan:
2B R.Hornsby(DIA) J.Morgan(DOU)

So, what's the deal? I would assume offense carried more weight than defense, but then why does Hornsby lead in all star and silver slugger, but not in MVP? Do team wins factor in? My team is in first with a near .600 win %. Hmmm... :?

For what it's worth, take a look at Morgan's (Fenway assisted) season.

Tm G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS BA SLG OBP
DOU 129 503 127 151 26 8 30 73 123 69 25 9 .300 .563 .438

33 games left, he ought to post some nice totals.
