#9 ??? You obviously don't remember his wheels. I'd bat him leadoff and let Frisch hit 9th!!

I believe that I won 3 Finger Brown, so I'm nominating Dick Radatz.

I remember his wheels. Buck had a nice car for sure, but letting someone drive it around the empty stadium parking lot once a month is not a fair trade for letting him bat leadoff.

mantle is why i play strato

Postby dlarkins » Wed Jan 21, 2009 9:07 pm

i am 50 years old and kept track of every mantle swing during hislater years. i missed his great seasons and have enjoyed strato and the 61 yanks card since 1971

the 56 card is even better

i figured i can save the 2-3 million overspent on the mick on my pitching or first base where there are lots of cheaper guys.

also in alefty park and division cf doesnt have too many good players

good luck

dan

I was 5 when my Mom took me to Yankee Stadium to see Mantle play. This was a big sacrafice for her as a Mets fan.

It's like Billy Crystal said, it was so [i:98aad5b552]green[/i:98aad5b552].

My grandfather (Pops) and my Mom passed on a love of baseball to me, I became a Yankee fan because they wer Mets fans and I was a kid that had to be different. Pops was a Dodger fan, and was pissed off about Brooklyn until the day he died. He adpoted the Mets then they came into being. One of my daughters is a huge Yankee fan, so it goes on. :D

I'm just a little bit younger than you ldanred

My wife is 50, and is 11 months older than I.

thats nice

i became a mets fan when mantle retired

my dad took me to see mantle in 1967 when the hudson mall in jersey city opened and mickey was the feature attraction for the opening. We didn't ahve a car and the mall was on the highway it couldnt have been too easy to get to.

its nice to have fun memories that connect sports with our families.
i try to get to a couple of mets games each year with my son who is 21.
