Is someone going to make a spreadsheet of the new players that we can pick in the second draft or do we have to wait until the spreadsheet comes out from sportingnews?

That would fall under my perview, I assumed we weren't doing the second draft until TSN released the new card set, that way we know EXACTLY which carded players will be available.

If you check the rules only CARDED players are available to be drafted, that's going to leave some disirable guys on the fence, Taylor Teagarden for example. (If you have the ratings book/disc check out his card  )
I could do a spread sheet but I'd only be able to guess at which guys TSN will exclude, (hell I might have drafted one already in Napoli) so I'd rather waint until we KNOW for sure who's available. When that happens we can just use TSN own site to see who's available.

I agree that we should wait until the cards come out.

[quote:d85a913557="old__toriihunter"]I was debating back and forth, Lackey vs. Dobbs...and it's easy to know when you might have made a mistake (I took Lackey) when Dobbs is the immediate next pick!

I'm hoping Lackey has an injury free year in 2009, because he has been one of the better pitchers recently. I would have liked Gavin Floyd more but he was scooped up just before.

Hairston Jr could have an awesome card as well, along with Bruney. We're getting a little risky now![/quote:d85a913557]

According to the SOM fielding ratings for 2008 Bruney is in the regular card set, so TSN should have his card available. I hope

Speaking of risky cards,

We need to make a decision RIGHT NOW, whether on not we will force mamagers to keep guys that are card risks once the cards come out.

I'll explain, some of us have drafted guys that are going to be on the edge of getting a card from TSN, (Prado, Napoli, Bruney and Nelson Cruz especially, come to mind), because of low IP, PA's or simply too good a card.

We have 2 choices:

1. You draft him you keep him, PERIOD whether TSN give him a card or not.

or

2. We allow a supplemental re-draft for uncarded players once TSN releases their game. ONLY players available on the draft site would be eligible, that way we still keep to the spirit of only 60 guys that are brand new will be drafted.

so we need to vote:

[b:0c07c9a70c]Option 1- Keep'em[/b:0c07c9a70c] 0 Votes

[b:0c07c9a70c]Option 2- Re-draft[/b:0c07c9a70c] 0 votes

as commision I don't get a vote, that way the league is actully run by the league and not by a dictator.

Jim just a heads up, that isn't hard and fast, I've seen TSN exclude cards that are too good even for guys with over 250 ab's. I'll tell you right now Nelson Cruz will NOT get a card, it's too good, and Bruney is borderline.
