Old situation thread

I agree--the head shed at TSN needs to devote more resources to the boys.
But with the reality of where SOMO falls as a margin issue compared to the fantasy games, I'm not sure how that would turn out if we all walked for a month...or two.

Bernie,

It is completely refreshing to be dealt with in a straight forward and honest way by TSN. The fact that you are giving the straight facts to the crowd shows respect and sincerity. Thank you for this.

Good luck with the restart. Next time, it would make sense to run the new system parallel to the old system for a bit...i am sure this is painfully obvious right now.

Your SOM implementation has been great so far and it is exciting to have someone focused exclusively on the game. I look forward to the improvements you will bring to the game and am sure the future upgrades will go smoother!

What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!

all the best,

jh

ps -- i hope none of this is in any way connected with Wockenfuss' site visit and meeting with Hal R. in Glenn Cove...he has been know to foster mass confusion and random outcomes with his clients and SOM teams....

Stats building now

Postby TSN_3143 » Sat Feb 25, 2006 6:54 am

At 6:50 noticed stats for last 6 games building in 2 lges. First change in status since 1:45. Perhaps progress?

Penn--only $2K--that's for CY2006 right?

I absolutely agree SOMO is a huge marketing blunder (again, no fault at the Bernie et al level). Very much an under-served and out-of-focus business plan, to be sure. I'd play many more teams under certain conditions, but not with the current setup. There are a lot of possibilites for expansion, such as making it an exact port of the computer version, fully customizable head to head or hands-off play, one game setting at a time, customizable drafting (such as integrating Penn's contribution to the community), etc.

So what about Simnasium? Heard about that and haven't seen anything. The problem is TSN's cards are the best out there for replay--I'd be cautiously optimistic about a new statistical paradigm. It's been tried before and failed every time.

 Rosco.

It sure beats the inane posts of "RJ is 1-5, does he suck? Anyone used him with success?"

I was giggling at Lucky's post about anyone getting any [i:0267c5d0e5]action[/i:0267c5d0e5] yet...I thought--are you kidding? They're all hitting refresh on their browser--there's no action out there tonight on other fronts. Well maybe the angry kind of love.

This may actually save some marriages!
