2003 revival complete!!!

Postby ArtemusRex » Sat Jan 31, 2009 1:28 am

[quote:b615ddb19c="ArtemusRex"]Yesterday was the day when I refocused back on my 2002 and 2003 teams after the 2001 heart break and my soon ending 16 fantasy football teams (5 are in Finals this weekend).

... ... ...

2003 is just godawful. I know alot of veterans (I guess by now I'm one too, just not in this card set), are politically opposed to just dropping players. Yes I did lose a couple of million but my team was .333 with a full roster. Doesn't get much worse than that. I know I'm probably out of it already, but I can at least make a showing in wins to get my Coffee points. :P[/quote:b615ddb19c]

The above quote is from Dec 21st. I really had no hope for 2003 and had just dumped my big *Pitcher (Schilling I believe) along with a few others and picked up May and Wells to anchor my new lineup. Well here I sit now six weeks later and I went from .333 to 3 games over .500 and first place in my division. This time it might have been magic JKolak. That and dogged persistance. I didn't have first place all to myself until Game 160. My pitching is much improved, my closer has been my only position that I could count on all year, and I still have the scars of a horrible season in a negative run differential. All this and JKolak missed the playoffs. That my just take the sting out of my current poor performance in 2004 where I should have been doing well. (Thats where my 2 World titles are from.)

Onward and upwards.

1st Playoffs

Postby clarkelectricpasco » Sat Jan 31, 2009 1:46 pm

This will be my first rodeo  so be nice to me! I am still learning playoff strategies but it looks like all I can do is ride my two horses (Loaiza and Schmidt). My matchup doesn't look too favorable so my guys need to step up and play over their heads. Good luck to all!

JD, I'm really impressed with you regular season. As I was checking out your tsn profile while adding my testimonial to it, I hadn't realized how new you were to the site. To not only join us crazy veterans but to actually win in the regular season.... well I'll just say color me impressed. I have no problem saying good luck to you as we won't meet until the champioship series. (if we both make it there). Of course, if I'd really mean it, I'd say break a leg instead. :P

Where did I get the Old World from? This is what happens when you post ten hours into a twelve hour shift. I still think the tour has been a success.

Good series Gross. My pitchers just got ahead of your hitters.

Not only am I surprised to be in the finals in this 2003 series, I'm surprised both finals participants have a full day to wait until the series starts as neither of us needed the fifth game.

JD Clark total points

Postby clarkelectricpasco » Wed Feb 04, 2009 10:25 am

Coffee, although I like the look of the total points for JD Clark, however you were too generous for 01 and 02. I had a combined total of 156 points. Therefore my total should be 316.
