Everyone needs to go home and get some sleep. We appreciate the effort, but it's just a game. No apologies are necessary whatsoever. However long it takes is fine. Now, grab a bite and go to sleep. All of you. You feel a lot better when you wake up.

Bernie...

There are some guys on the boards with computer/database/whatever experience, I'm sure.

What seems to be the problem? I've got a good friend who is a computer geek, both hardware and software. If we knew what the problem was, I could get his feedback on a possible solution...

wow, that took some time to read. I can sympathize with Bernie and TSN. And I can forgive the delays and overlook the problems. My life will go on and I will most likely remain a customer.

But while things are down and before trying to fire back up some thinking needs to be done. Running 6 games in one night was bad plan. Running what will now be 9 in one night will be totally unacceptable. Running 2 days of playoffs in one night was bad. You could be kicked out of playoffs in blink of an eye. But running 3 nights of playoffs would be ugly. An injury in the first game could seal your fate with no chance adjust lineups until series was over.

Please when the dust has cleared run only one standard nights set of games per day. Simply pick up where you left off and continue. If that is impossible and it is so important to keep things happening on a set night of the week then keep everything on hold for rest of the week and pick up next week at the appropriate time. The intervening time could be spent testing and making sure everything is in fact fixed. And it would have the side benefit of allowing you to do the work/fixing/testing during the day with less time pressure.

tersignf...
Corporate profit (depending on industry) runs anywhere from the 5-95 range to the 30-50% range (very few of those).

Averaged out a corporations NET_NET bottom line will run around 7-9%. Not alot but this is not the same ballpark ( no pun intended). This is a very-low-manpower operation. Even if SOM charges then 25% they still make out very well.

And if that incompetent restaurant doesn't compensate me...even if they are the ONLY steakhouse in town, I'll learn to love seafood!!!

Free market.

Too bad for you Mood(on hockey that is)--and hey I'm not trying to be a jerk, it's just that if folks want to play what-if--try it. It sucks in my opinion, as someone who wants accurate representation of player talent.

This community has been called a bunch of geeks, but we've get everything from kids to lawyers to doctors to IT pros, and all kinds of executive employment levels in between--this may be a geeky community but overall the intelligence level is a notch above many others.

Why? because of the quality of the underlying product--which TSN pays A LOT of money for to Mr Hal R.

BERNIE--I THINK/HOPE THERE WILL BE A LESSONS LEARNED DATABASE GETTING BUILT TO BETTER IMPROVE THIS SITUATION IN THE FUTURE. I think that was some folks' point--sucks and we'll be back, but when the dust settles, maybe an after-actions and adjusted plan for next time is in order.

Thanks for coming back to this game full time!

I was thinking about that on the way home last night. I was thinking about the flip side- I hurried home anxiously thinking that I could have another ring waiting for me!!! :D

Aray on your points...

1. Thuga are what the NBA is populated with. Name another league that has to have a dress code. I don't care what you connote to the word Thug, if you want to make it the n-word that is YOUR choice, but it still stands that over 60% of all NBA players have felony convictions (SI).

2. Yes the NHL has enforcers...have since the game started. And fighting has been a PART of the game since it started. The incidents by the Rangers beating-up their fans is decades old. But it still stands that NHL'ers could play other sports for more money and they still play hockey. But, I'll concede this could just be a personal preference.

My $.02

Postby rutkap » Sat Feb 25, 2006 12:41 pm

I think TSN needs to replace my Refresh button on my browser - It doesn't seem to work any more :D

Waited all night and day to see my scores - now I am forced to go into Downtown St. Louis for their mardi gras Parade and look at young naked women for the rest of the night while drinking large quantities of alchohol. HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO RUN MY TEAM AFTER ALL THAT?

Bernie, good luck - get plenty of rest tonight, enjoy some time with your family, take a personal day after this has been resolved. It shouldn't bee all work and baseball.....

[quote:462e31a73f]Idea And, if you can tell me where you can get a Filet Mignon for $20, I'd greatly appreciate it ... hell, I'd take it home RAW in a doggy bag and cook it myself for that price! [/quote:462e31a73f]

come to Tuckers in St. Louis in the soulard neighborhood. For $18 you get a 10 or 12 oz. Filet wrapped in bacon, a Salad and a Baked Potato. try to get half that at Mortons or Ruth-Chris'
