[quote:14013a8a7d="nythawk"]will someone [b:14013a8a7d]PLEASE[/b:14013a8a7d] draft a hitting park. All these pitching parks are killing me
I might have to target a couple of OBP guys now.
And on a side note I now have my list of potential #1 picks narrowed down to 3.It has not been as easy a prospect as I originally thought it would be especially considering I am looking to win it all in the first season which means I actually might go after a pitcher whose upside isnt as big as the young hitters.Oh decisions,decisions.[/quote:14013a8a7d]

I gotta say I keep looking at the stadium draft and smile keeps getting bigger and bigger. Here's the divisional alighments with parks, just for comparison's sake:

Look on the bright side hawk, at least you still have the best HR parks in your division so far. :D

LA 12 for lefties and ATL 10 for righties.Thats it for power parks .These stadiums really suck

What is it with you and Miller Bill??I know it was your favorite park this year but 09 as well???.Maybe you should reconsider and take the world series champs instead(I know what a huge fan of the phils you are  )

There ya go hawk, Cincy. As for my "love" of Miller, It has more to do with my hate of parks with high ballpark singles. In the early 90's I played in a FtF keeper league that let us build our own ballparks and this one guy, would always use a park similar to Fenway, High BP singles, and load his team with high OBP slap hitters that all could run. IT DROVE ME NUTS playing agianst it, cause you had to hold everyone in his lineup and he'd get those advantages and turn outs into singles. It was liked being pecked to death by hens. I hated playing against that style, probably moreso because of him. ( I think he used to cheat, picking up dice quick, loaded dice etc. but I couldn't ever catch him)

All that said, I ALWAYS pick a park with low BP singles numbers, my ideal park would have BP singles as 1's and HR"s as about an 8 or 9. Milwakee for the last 2 seasons fits that bill. My ideal team would also all have power, be * base stealers, gain in the clutch and be a 1 or 2 defensivley. ( I came close in 94- Brian McCrae, Mike Lansing, Bonds, Brian Jordan, Andres Galarraga, Ken Caminitti, Bernie Williams, Rey Ordenez and Kirt Manwaring)

I'd have taken Shea, but I'm concerned on how Citifield will play. I've read 2 conflicting reports, 1 that has it as a better pitchers park than Shea based on the design, wind currents etc. and another where some of the players, Wright, amonst them, that conducted some BP in the park and thought the ball carried better. So who knows.

From how to read a strat card

Postby KEITHLAMONT » Mon Feb 02, 2009 12:59 pm

> -- Ballpark singles rating. An additional roll determines whether there is a single or a lineout. The probability varies by ballpark and whether the hitter is lefthanded or righthanded. The original result listed is ignored -- in effect, the result will be determined by "rolling against" the ballpark's singles rating (a random number from 1-20). If the number rolled is equal to or higher than the ballpark's rating for a left- or righthanded hitter, it is a single.

By this definition, wouldnt it mean miller would have alot of BP singles?

That's exactly the opposite of the way it is written in Strat's rules and if TSN is doing it that way it's backwards. My guess is it's a typo. Think about it. Fenway which has HIGH BP singles ratings does give up a tons of singles because of the wonky OF walls. And San Fran, know as an EXTREME pithers park doesn't and it's reflected in the 1 for singles.
