I am happy that both Hairston & Spilborghs have good 2-way cards. They give my lineup some nice depth. The ratings data for Span, Roberts, Pena, Hamilton & Salty looks just fine, Doumit not a ton of OB vs RH but good XBH.

My starting pitching is good, not the best but maybe top 3-5 in the league? A very solid rotation 1-4, and I think my pen is probably one of the best in the league right now with Fuentes, Thornton, Paps & Saito.

So offense = A, pitching equals B+, defense probably a C+ with all 2s except C, 3B, LF which will be 3s or 4s. Should be a contender.

my starting rotations i give an A- olsen will hurt when he has to start for peavy.

my line up i give a B top heavy but hurting at the bottom.

Fielding maybe a c+ .. I do have all the platoon players to sub in to play the field.

Over all i think i have a chance to contend

3B

Postby BBY » Mon Feb 02, 2009 10:21 am

Anybody interested in adding some speed at 3B to their team? I'm taking offers for chone figgins. What I want in return is a 3B better against RH with at least a 3 range.

Let me know if anybody is interested.

Better how?, Figgins has a 41 on base count, are you looking for more power? Because you'll be hard pressed to find better OB, he's one of the top 12 in the deck in that regard.

I'm still ooking to acquire a top flight catcher - Martin, Mauer, that type of guy. Also looking to upgrade 2B, SS and LF

Can offer Ichiro, a starting pitcher (Lannan, Lohse or Jimenez) prospects and Beltre.

SIGH,

Go here:

http://www.strat-o-matic.com/eShop/10Browse.asp

It's at the bottom of the page, [b:2b338746d0]2008 Ratings book[/b:2b338746d0] I sugesst ordering the Disk to if you stll have access to a 3.5 inch floppy drive. the disk contains the info in the book in excel form so you can search by stats and counts. The book also expalins what the chances are and how many are on a card.
I can expalin it if you want, but don't feel like typing it all out right now, but I'll do it later if you want me too.

you don't need the book. You can get most of that from MLB.com. Just search a player and hit the splits link and...voila..Figgins had .378 OBP vs. RHP and only a .336 vs. LHP. He also faced RHP at an almost 3-1 rate vs. LHP so he will probably be a R4 or more with a lot of W's vs. RHP(50 in 385 PA's) and speed that kills.

Thats just the basics...you never know until you see the card.

You're right of course, but he asked specifcally "where can I get the book?"

I never even mentioned it in my initial post.

I know you have a bias against it, but it IS helpful for some, especailly for quick comparisions of 2 or 3 players.

Maybe it's my computer, but to search for stats for 2 or 3 different players on a website takes me longer waiting for webpages to load,( damn ads), typing in names etc., then just looking in the ratings book for a comparison.

If he wants it let him get it.
