For Everyone Complaining

Postby TXBuddy » Sat Feb 25, 2006 2:40 pm

Hey, Guy's. I just got involved in online Strat-O-Matic a few weeks ago. It's what I do while drinking my coffe in the morning, it's what I do during breaks to relax and it's where I am right before I go to sleep at night. And yes, I was up until 3am hoping to get my scores last night. And I'm usually in bed by 11pm.
When I tried to join my first league it seemed to take forever to get the league together. I was used to fantasy baseball. You never wait that long for a league to form. I sent an email to Bernie & the guy's asking them to take me out of the 2001 league I was in so I could join another league, maybe 2005, something that was moving quicker. Their answer was to leave me in the league I was in AND let me join another league without having to pay again. A free league and I've never even played in the first one, let alone won a league. That is customer service. That is careing about your clients. I guarantee you that, whatever the problem is, it isn't a lack of concern for their clients.
Everyone here would like to call themself a sports fan. Most pretend, at one time or another, that they are involved in the game. That's why we're all here. PLEASE, think like an athlete just for a moment. Bernie & the Guy's are doing the BEST they can do to fix this problem. Back them up...support them...be a part of the solution, don't become part of the problem. Everyone that becomes part of the problem just makes it that much larger...that much harder to overcome. Back them up, let them know you will still be here when the smoke clears and let's kick this things butt together!!!

Let's all give Bernie our backing, a little patience, and anything else he needs. This is just a game and his life sucks right now. Having said that, something qk said intrigues me, is this a low priority business for TSN and they would rather be without it?

Quote by qk: "That said, we need to realize that there is no easy way out given the big picture issues at play with TSN, and we'll need to be prepared for anything. It may sound farfetched, but given Hal R's eccentricities and lack people to leave SOM to as a business, investing as a community in buying the SOM license down the road may not be as crazy as it seems. Let's keep talking along those lines & see what materializes." What are the costs involved with buying the licensencing of SOM Online? Is this an option and are there enough of us to buy it? Just some thoughts if TSN doesn't want the hassle of taking care of a low profit business like SOM.

All this is moot if TSN wants and desires to continue with SOM Online. I will support them and Bernie any way I can.

I'd like to give a big thumbs up to what TXBuddy said. Having only found SOM a short time ago, I was unsure as well as to what to think when I joined my first league and ran into a problem that was purely of my own doing. I sent an email to TSN and Bernie responded in less than an hour and fixed the problem for me. That was customer service and being in the service industry that type of response earned at that time them a little patience from me. Not that I haven't been sweating out the last couple of days waiting out the delays. But, it certainly isn't the worst thing in the world that could happen. Is it??? If your answer to that question was yes, then my advice to you would be to seek help!!! LOL!!! :D

Besides I've got much more enjoyment today just reading through this thread from time to time than I ever would have looking at my boxscores. Thanks for the entertainment on a cold Saturday in North Carolina. It is much appreciated.

Keep your head up Bernie, there are a lot of us behind you!!!

We are all behind Bernie, BUT

this is a fee for services deal and the services are not being provided. If your autolease company took back your car for a few days, I doubt you would be so complacent. Let's be patient and tolerant and trust that TSN will do the right thing.

I am sure, from a business point of view, TSN will do the right thing and give everyone a credit or two for 06 or some sort of compensation/refund.

Once this resolves (it will Bernie wont quit), we should start a NEW THREAD andhave a contest: "WHO WAS MOST SCR3WED by the servers?"

I'm responsible for at least half the views as I keep checking for scores and CREDITS.

Trying to be patient. Appreciate the efforts of Bernie and the guys.

Hal's still on strike! Lets give him what he wants so we can get on with it? Although I am not pleased with it all, I agree we should give our support to our negotiaters mainly Bernie. I am done complaining and come to the acceptance that I might not see my new team or boxscores for awhile. I just hope that my whole account doesnt get errased with the current $250 invested at this time. Bernie get some rest if you havent already, and we shall wait patiently for the return of our precious imiginary games right guys? Good luck with it all and hope to see you out on the fields soon. See ya there hopefully, I will keep my fingers crossed. Later

I think that comparing not being able to play a GAME for a couple of days to getting a car taken away may be a little over the top. Although that may just be me.

That being said, I must reiterate that they earned my patience by being there and fixing a problem quickly without complaint during my first dealings with them.

And, I really don't expect anything in return for my patience except that they continue to solve problems to the best of their ability. Don't want anything free, don't want them to solve world hunger, just want them to fix the problem so the GAME can start back up.
