[quote:b7e3ba00aa]Postseason for both 2005 and ATG II have been completed, however, for Thursday and Friday night, and are thus caught up. Because they are easier to run, I intend to keep them on schedule.[/quote:b7e3ba00aa]
Sigh. Back to the 80's = Back to the back of the bus.
In any event, now that the solution is far from hand, I'd like to put my 2 cents in on the whole deal. The range of emotion in this thread is insane. Some people even have gone from one side of the emotion fence to the other. No matter the arguement both sides are in the right.
We pay for the service and the service is broken. Am I disappointed? Yes. Poor implementation without proper planning. The good news? I'm glad it isn't my bank's website pulling this kind of shenanigans.
Will the loyal base be compensated for the break in service?
Don't care so much as long as there are timely updates as to what is being done to correct the problem with some type of time table showing what's going on behind the scenes and when the expected up time will occur. However, if TSN does decide to compensate it's loyal base, don't leave any of us out, regardless of the format that we choose to play: equally distributed.
And if the down time gets to a point beyond my threshold for patience, then I fully expect a 100% refund on all the credits that I have purchased in good faith and a 100% refund on all teams that have stalled in mid-season.
More importantly, I'm very interested in what [b:b7e3ba00aa]exactly[/b:b7e3ba00aa] are the benefits from a server upgrade at this point? What are we going to be able to see from our end?
1. Faster website access?
2. New features?
3. All games will run in less than 30 minutes after midnight?
4. Just establishing a foundation for future games and what does that mean for the older formats?
5. (Insert other commentary here.)
Inquiring minds want to know. We want to know if the ends are going to justify the means.
I have compassion for Bernie and the other anonymous staff that have put in long hours these past couple of days. Those are long hours and I give you a hearty thumbs up for the effort. I'm sure there must have been times when you wanted to go running down the street naked in the middle of the night leaving only your butt cheek impressions on the photocopier glass as the only evidential proof that you had ever been at the TSN offices at all.
But you didn't. So thanks for the hard work and the effort. There are more important things in life like the wife and family. So, go get a ice cold six pack and some carryout pizza, pig out, and get some much needed down time yourself.
But do keep us in the loop on what's happening.
