Well, I'm a server engineer myself, and we are required to have worst case scenario contingency plans in place. One of the things required in that respect is the ability to roll back to the way things were. In other words, abandon the upgrade and go back to the previous server and then look back and try to get the answers to why the upgrade failed.

I just I think putting things back the way they were should have been an option.

I am soooo glad that my team is out of contention when this happened the final 6 games of my season. Complete mismanagement of my bullpen, PH-ing and stealing moves that would make my head spin sometimes (I'll never forget the 4-3 game I lost in the 9th inning because Jackie Robinson was nabbed stealing 2nd to end the game with Ruth at the dish), and the fact that I couldn't be there live when my team was drafted all helped derail my poor Bellmore Boogadees. I'm still on the fence about whether or not I should sign on for another ride, because this game is addictive to me. Having to explain to my wife why I am staying up til 2:30am waiting for the scores to come in and checking in constantly the last few days for the stats, despite the fact I am mathematically eliminated, and the little pink bugs crawling all over my arms since the server crash all point to the fact I NEED HELP. Maybe the upcoming Fantasy Baseball season will ease the withdrawal symptoms. Maybe. Hey here's an idea, instead of bi---ing about the delay let's all share Hal horror stories.

Wow, I FINALLY made it to the end and read EVERY reply. Pretty insane.

Now I am finally going to bed and get some sleep. When I wake up, I hope the problem is fixed.

I have one 2005 team, one back to 80s, two ATGII, so 4 free credits. Wow that would be like 80 dollars worth of free gaming. I would have to get TWO ATGII credits because one team is being run by my wife and one by me. You think you have problems with your server... imagine if you gave only ONE credit how many problems i would have with my wife. Of course it should go to me. But try telling her that.

Andrey- we are praying for you in church tomorrow.

Mighty Moose- you guys just play it safe. How many YEARS has this game run without a major server problem? Now they have one. Pretty good record considering what the rest of the world offers.

Fina WORD to Bernie- I do not pay much attention to personalities but alot of people are glad you are back. But I heard rumors of you considering fiddling with the strato engine. I am a strato purist. The game should be stratomatic as it is. Anything less should not be ALLOWED to be called stratomatic. If you mess with strato the strato gods will get you. I do not know what they will do, but it won't be nice- maybe something like CRASHING YOUR SERVER!!!!

Res - I think Bernie's posts were not about messing with the Strato engine but using it more & putting more of the CD-ROM options online & also making the coding in the engine more transparent. That was my take on what he meant, and I am all for it.....

Thanks for those updates. Does Sporting News have a counselor available by telephone for those of us suffering acute withdrawal symptoms? I haven't eaten for two days and can only watch Ronco infomercials.

I feel bad for the guys, but this was not planned out properly. Get some sleep, and git-r-don.

However, I can promise that one free credit will push my arse right out the door. Not sure if a 1 for 1 plan is exactly the right thing either, but, 1 credit for the 25 active teams I have right now is not right either.

Hey, this sucks, but what are we going to do about it? Yes, stuff happens, and, trust me, I cant wait till its resolved, however, not sleeping for 50 hours at this point is doing more harm than good.

Get some rest and come back later to kick its arse!!
