it was a tough decision to pass on the Manny & Ortiz for me as well. Came down to deciding between Cleveland and Oakland. Boston just did not have enough pitching for me. Hopefully, I can get a couple more bats with the next team and free agents. Or at least pick up some depth for trade bait.

Hey guys, it's moving pretty well, even with the problems TSN is having. However, I woke up this morning and found my hard drive crashed. I am at a buddy's house right now using his computer. I will do my best to get mine running again, or find a way to maintain contact by using proxies for myself. Let's keep it rolling. We have time so there is no rush at this point.

The third through sixth rounds of the draft will consist of drafting individual players from the teams not drafted as base teams. There are 30 MLB teams and 24 will be drafted as base teams, which leaves 6 undrafted teams. Players from those teams will be eligible to be drafted in rounds 3 through 6. Since there will actually be two AL teams and 4 NL teams remaining, I may have to amend this rule slightly. By reversing the order for these rounds I mean that whomever has the first pick in round 1 will have the last pick in round two, and will also have the last pick in round 3, but the first pick in round 4.

Also rule number 5? - If there is no Frenzy, isn't there automatically waivers or am I confused about something?

You are not confused here. Technically, there will be a frenzy period, however, since all of our teams are drafted prior, there will be no need for a frenzy. We will not know how much players will cost, which is why I made it $100 million cap limit. However, you will still have to make sure your team fits under the cap. If you are unable to do so, you may have to forfeit one of your draft picks for a .50 player from an undrafted team.


Is there any way to see the cards pre-game start?

No, however, you can guess the quality of players cards by looking at splits on the MLB.com stats page, or some SOM players have purchased the ratings disk, which gives ratings, but not salaries. I do not have the disk. "

Alright - we have a full boat. So, draft order will be determined based on Wednesday's lottery drawings. Lowest gets first pick in round one. And remember, highest gets first pick of FAs from undrafted base teams in round 3 of the draft.

And a thought about the FA portion of the draft, I was thinking that the league drafted in round 3 would be determined by whomever has first pick in that that round. For example, if I have the highest lottery number tomorrow, then I will have the last pick in round 1 and the first pick in round 2 for the base teams. Then I will have the first pick in round 3 as well for individual FAs from undrafted teams. If I choose a FA from an undrafted team in the National League, then that round must all be from NL teams. Then round 4 will be from the AL teams and I will have the last pick in that round. Rounds 5 and 6 will be open. This will hopefully ensure some fairness and make things a little more interesting.

Does this make sense? Any thoughts?"

One other addition to make - we will be drafting 4 FAs from undrafted base teams, so you may never have more than 4 of these players on your roster. You may have less than 4, and you must always have at least 20 from your base teams. If your FAs don't fit under your cap ($100 million), you may need to adjust later.

Also, it was mentioned earlier by Vince that we could name our teams based on a combination of the base teams. I like this idea, but I don't care which order you choose. For example - Philadelphia Royals, or Kansas City Phillies.

Well Penn - you foiled my plan. I though Baltimore would still be there when my turn came back around. Oh well, I still have some good partners out there.

Stoney is up for two. Remember, your second base team must be from the opposite league of your first.

This guarantees me either the Angels or the White Sox, and I feel pretty good about those choices.

Choice gets pretty tough with no dominating team left. Well, Sox pitching is pretty good.

Yeah Stoney - it's just a matter of what park you'll pick. And the other bright side is that you'll have first pick in the FA draft, so you'll be able to plug any hole with a pretty big name (hopefully). And it doesn't hurt having D. Lee and stud pitching staff.

I'm going to post my pick even though Penn hasn't gone yet. He can't choose an AL team, so I'll post mine. Bigmahon must wait until Penn chooses his NL team, though FrankM can choose his AL team whenever.

I'm thinking I'll keep the clock off for now, at least until the second round is complete. There is no real hurry just yet. But, I'll probably institute it for the FA portion of the draft. Any problems with that?

I have a question on the rules concerning the free agent draft picks from the leftover teams. I know you specified that the players from our base teams, remain our property as a sort of farm team, if they are not on the active roster. Does the same apply to drafted players? If they are not on the opening day roster, do we keep their rights? Also just to clarify, only the players selected in the FA draft are eligible to be used in the league, correct? So if no one drafts a Todd Helton, for example, he can't be picked up on the waiver wire?

Not going to complain to loudly about this, since it was discussed before, but isn't the purpose of a serpentine draft sto help ensure a little parity?

If i'm going to get stuck with TB or KC or Detroit, since those will probably be one of the last AL teams to fall, wouldn't it seem more likely that I get one of the first compensation picks?

Not the guy who walks away with Derek Lee as the mainstay on his second team?
