Novie,

I'll e-mail you the list from home tonight. You have exclusive rights to 3 players: Yaz, Williams and Lou Boudreau. It's ok to change your franchise player up to the point where we start the draft.

jp, is there a criteria for the 3 round draft other than the salary? Do the players have to have played with franchise?

I sent a PM with my email address, I'd like to have the >7 Mil list. Thanks

JP: I'd also like to know if we're restricted in the three-round draft to players who've worn our own uniforms.

No sour grapes here. I understand that the rules don't favor everyone each go-round. However, if my White Sox research is correct, I don't have a single position player valued at more than $8.9 million, let alone $11 million.

My paperwork isn't in front of me, but if memory serves me correct, there's only one Sox position player who's valued at more than $9 million -- and he didn't play long enough to allow me to draft him, if I wanted. And the top valued position player carded to the team is Dick Allen at $8.9 million.

With a $125 million cap, the White Sox won't be competitive unless I'm able to pluck high-priced position players away from other rosters, something that's basically against the entire premise of this league. If restricted, I'm faced with having to spend about half my salary on pitching and having to pray for shutouts all season.

Please enlighten me. I'll live with your decision without complaint, but under the current terms, I feel like I'm being forced to flush $25 down the SOM drain.

Sorry for the confusion. As always the player has to have pitched an inning or had an at bat for your franchise for you to be able to use him. The 50% of the years played with your franchise only applies for the five teams the get to choose "franchise players" up front before the draft. Otherwise, an AB or IP gets you in. That's true for all three rounds of the draft.

majicmg, you're right, the White Sox do not have access to any player valued over 11 mil. You do have at least two SP's valued over $10.75, and you'll have the right of first refusal for at least one of them. Or you can opt for a + 9 million hitter in round one, you have at least one available . The whole idea of this draft was to protect teams like the White Sox so that you are able to get a few players at high salaries. The White Sox have exclusive rights to 4 players over 7 mil, so they didn't qualify for naming a "franchise player."

Can't e-mail the lists from work, I'll do it when I get home. I just got a phone call that makes it look like I may be here until later tonight :( .
