WINTER 1969 - WEST LOADING - Gordie Howe is last team!

Our historical single season sets

[quote:20cdd22253="gfdwarf07"]Sign-up here for a 1969 live draft via the SOMDRAFT.COM site. Draft will be 20 rounds (19 players and a stadium). We will set-up the somdraft.com draft once we get a full 12 team list. After you draft your 20 players, we will form a league and you autodraft via TSN those 19 players you drafted and select the stadium you drafted. Then we autodraft for the final six roster spots, then frenzy for any final adjustments.

DH = No, just like real 1969, unless a majority votes to change this

Draft order and division assignments will be randomized after we get 12 owners committed.

Salary cap will be placed at $200MM (essentially no cap).

When did we switch to Waivers?
I was looking forward to Frenzy, it doesn't matter all that much, I just like to know when rules get changed.

We did originally plan frenzy - but with the new guys it may be a challenge and waivers will be more fair. We also took much longer to draft than planned because of the proxy problem, so timing is an issue.

For RJ and GH - with waivers you have a couple days to make changes to your roster and do it in a waiver order (via claims that are processed in order). With frenzy it's all at once - every team for themselves and it starts right after the autodraft has gone (this then puts those able to be at their computer right after the autodraft at an advantage). You add and drop at will. Even if we go with waivers there is still a period after the waiver period when you can keep adding and dropping.

If the majority want to vote for a frenzy we can change back to that, but with everyone's schedule in this league I think waivers is most fair.

Are we still on for the 200 Million dollar payroll and no DH?

Yes on both counts.

As the commish stated, waivers is probably the most fair way to do this league. There should be minimal surprises once the autodraft runs - it will give the new guys some time to digest the process.

I will start a league up tonight and avise my Eastern Division brethren when it is ready.

I have just now sent the league name and password to the Eastern Division via PM (Private Message - it's the little blue/white envelope in the corner of your Message Board).

If any of you have troubles (ldanred, rjnewman & allstar inc), please notify me here and we can fix it...Good Luck to All!

Thanks to Dan (gfdwarf) for setting this league up!!!

The Last Waltz

Postby GordieHowe » Sun Feb 22, 2009 7:47 am

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie...

My 19 players and stadium are loaded for my team (the Seattle Pilots). I can't figure a way to load six other players at the top. Is there a trick to this?

* You need to include 6 additional players in your draft form to get you to 25 total players (which inclues at least 5 pitchers that can start and at least catchers).

* Once that is done, proceed to the next step. You should see a screen that has one solid box with all of your 25 players listed. Select the 6 players that you want to move by using the UP button to the side. Once you have moved the players to the top to your satisfaction, hit SAVE. Note: you will still be able to go back and RE-SAVE if needed.

* You'll be prompted to select your stadium, if not already done.

*Click JOIN A LEAGUE and find the "Winter of 69"; you'll be instructed when to join that league when it is time to load your division.

Keep asking questions here if you have problems. I realize that it's not too clear-cut on how to proceed - we're here to help... Until the games begin. :D
