New League Ideas - 69 Challenge League Talk

Our historical single season sets

Postby STEPHENANDERSON 2 » Mon Feb 27, 2006 1:37 pm

I'm going with the A's because (a) I want to use yellow baseballs, (b) I love having a jackass as my mascot, (c) I dig those green and gold uniforms, and (d) I'm scard sh**less of the O's and Twinkies in the East!

East:

NY Mets - EHLEKEV
Baltimore - Assmeriten
Minnesota - he's Meat
Atlanta - Doctor_tax

Central:

SF Giants - CATom
Chi. Cubs - errormagnate
Detroit - Pelzer
Cincinatti - Skandia Midgets

West:

Boston - LM Bombers
Oakland - FAaron
St. Louis - Genegrid
Pittsburg - BoDean

The below players will be added to some team's rosters to give them a "legal" 25 man roster for the AD and will be retained, if wanted, for the season. See earlier in this post for reasons why these players were chosen. Please consider these players on these teams rosters when determining which team you would like to draft.

Chicago Cubs - C John Boccabella (.50) & SP Bill Stoneman (1.67)

St. Louis Cardinals - RP Ron Willis (.50)

Atlanta Braves - RP Claude Raymond (.50)

Boston Red Sox - OF Ken Harrelson (3.27)

Pittsburgh Pirates - SP Jim Bunning (3.33)

Baltimore Orioles - OF Ron Stone (.50) & OF Tom Shopay (.50)

OAK, CIN, SF & NYM have more than 25 players on their rosters. The extra players can be picked up after the AD.

Oh well... really did not want to end up here, but at least I do not minde playing this team as long as Carty stays unhurt 80% of the time. Plus, I grew up as a Braves fan and actually saw Aaron hit a couple of dingers.

Watch out Twinkies and Big O's... here I come.

ALSO, HAS THE LEAGUE BEEN SET UP YET?????????

NY Mets - EHLEKEV
Baltimore - Assmeriten
Minnesota - he's Meat
Atlanta - Doctor_tax

One of these teams needs to set up the league and share the password with the other 3 teams in the East.

200m, DH, No Waivers (frenzy), standard

In our current league my Yankees struggle to score runs. I wanted to make sure I picked a team in this league where that wouldn't be a problem. Plus the Red Sox are my favorite team!

I will probably have quite a few game scores of 10-9. Hopefully I have 10 in most of them!

I'll go ahead and predict a Pirates vs Orioles World Series. (Just like '71 and '79 the Pirates win it all)

Thanks for the vote of confidence Bombers. My prediction:

East--O's
Central--TIGERS
West--Red Sox

Wild Card- Mets

Playoffs:

O's over Mets in 5
Red Sox sweep Tigers

Series---Orioles in 6

I am waiting on a credit to be given supposedly today--that is what I'll use for this league. It says on the board they will be given today so we'll see. I won't hold things up so if there is a problem or something I'll just go ahead and buy another one but am gonna try to wait it out a little.
