ATG IV 16 event Franchise League

Postby novie » Thu Feb 26, 2009 12:42 pm

I thought on the previous page or 2 JP had suggested that if it were a tie that we would have a runoff. Now granted, we may not get anyone to change their position, but maybe we should try. If so, lets atleast explore 24 hours to see if we can come to a majority. Also, how about lets put the protecting players specifics in writing. Not sure how much it may influence anyone either way, but we should know exactly what we are getting into.

If no one wants to change their vote, you could pick 2 states for a lottery draw, each state represents a season format choice, then use the nightly lottery draw to break the tie... (highest draw wins)... just a thought to break the tie.. ':?'[/quote:76475f8f0e]

2 cityfan,

I think we just go to the lottery. Dave assigned us each a state at some point. I'm Texas. Pick a state, high number wins and that's the rule.[/quote:76475f8f0e]

Lets get this over with. I'm gonna post all the states being used in the ATG forum, and ask someone to pick two. The first state chosen is for the 1/1, the secong post WWII. We'll use last nights lottery. From there we can decide on protecting players. Does anyone have a problem with that?

Anyone else want to think this one over....

Postby 2cityfan » Thu Feb 26, 2009 1:04 pm

My assigned lottery state is PA.. if that is the road we are going down..

I think the 1-plyer/1-plyer rule in a 60mil league is brutal.. I can't get excited building a roster of 1.86mil per player over 22 players... I will honor my 16 season commitment whatever the outcome, but the 1-hitter/1-pitcher season format will really seem like a wasted credit/$$$

Anyone want to change their vote before the lottery....

Slow down, Pjatscfy

We are not starting this league for another 3 weeks or so, so I don't see the rush to judgment. Like 2cityfan, Novie, and I have suggested, let's let people think over their decisions and then we can vote again in a few days or next week. In the mean time, perhaps we can amend/solidify the rules to the top two contenders so that everyone is clear what their choices are.

I'll change my vote, but there has to be some sort of draft or something. The protecting players might be good for some teams, but the KC Athletics has not one person I would ever consider protecting. That leaves me with one team to pick from.

I suggest the protection of 1 player and a 2 or 3 round draft of anyone who's played for your franchise.

I, for one, feel better about the post/exp idea than i did when i voted (before really researching). I would rather have opportunity to use a few more decent players than the 1hitter/1pitcher allows. We each get one shot at each team.
If you want a vote changed and avoid the lottery, I'm your man. If we'd rather re-vote, that's fine by me too.

specifics for season 10.. are you okay with

Postby 2cityfan » Thu Feb 26, 2009 2:48 pm

For the post WW2/exp era league..

How about:

100mil/DH/waivers
any player with an IP or AB for your franchise is eligible for your roster

eveyone can protect 1 carded player prior to the autodraft..

we will do a live 2 round serpentine draft prior to the autodraft to distribute some of the key impact players eligible for numerous rosters...

You maintain exclusive rights to your draft choices and protected carded players until game 1.... once the season starts if these players end up in the free agent pool they are fair game for any eligible franchises..

Sounds reasonable, 2cityfan. Let's do it. PostWW2/exp era players only.

Like I said earlier, though, let's not even start the drafting process for another few weeks. Let Season 6 completely finish, playoffs and all. What do you say, JP?
