prelim drops

Postby qksilver69 » Sat Mar 07, 2009 7:03 pm

I may add to these, not likely to subtract though...

Brown Andrew
Garcia Freddy
Hall Billy
Jones Andruw
Lyon Brandon
Riske David
Tracy Chad
Wilson Brian
Wolf Randy

I have my roster at 36, so 9 drops should leave me with 13 picks.

Can I propose a rule change?

Can we add the [i:3737984803]Qksilver Corollary[/i:3737984803] to the rules of this league?

[i:3737984803]No manager may own more than two picks per round in any draft FA or Supplemental[/i:3737984803].

Nothing against Qk, hats off to him for his hypnotic dance charms that lure people away from their 1st rounders and hats off to him as well for sucking it up with over 100 losses to earn that top pick... but c'mon 5 picks of the top 13  this really tilts the balance of the league. And we all know that.

So, my point is in moving on towards a more balanced league can we regulate the ammount of picks a manager is allowed to make per round? Qk, you can still get more than one, my proposal is two (or three if folks prefer), I think two or three picks per round is really fair I'm just looking for things to stay in check that's all.

I know Qk you might take this personally and its nothing personal Dave, I'm realy just saying this in what I consider to be the most beneficial for the parity [b:3737984803][i:3737984803]of the league[/i:3737984803][/b:3737984803], no I'm not still fuming over that ridiculous offer you sent me with the sub 1 mil player and the high injury 1.5 mil useless vs LHP hitter in return for my first round pick and my 7 mil player :P

Honestly guys, I really think this should be considered.

Are you serious???
Or a Communist  .
Anyone of us were free to do the same thing if we could pull it off.
Cards change for year to year, talent spikes and declines, injuries happen, it's cyclical. Just becuase he'll do well in the draft this year and probably sport a competive team, means nothing for future years.
Being one of his "victims" I can't say I feel cheated in the deal we made, and think he gave up alot to get my pick. He now gets the chance to turn around his 100 loss team, isn't that the point?

I'm TOTALLY against this sort of thing.
I REALLY hope it was a joke on your part and isn't considered by our new commisioners in the least.

I'll walk if it's adopted.

OK, I made an effort in expressing my idea for the league in an intelligent and resoectful manner without putting ultimatums, being petulant or insulting and in return I get called a communist, and placed on an ultimatum. Interesting.

You know what Bill, why don't you just stay pat. I'm out. out of for good of this Uskl 2 & 3.

[i:f681cab06b]He might have been joking, Niners, and please don't walk because I am trying to make a play for Aaron Hill (I need 2B help this year).... I also need a LF masher and have Bedard, Josh Anderson (CF-Atlanta), and some others to offer in the right deal.[/i:f681cab06b]

[b:f681cab06b]Anyone can propose anything they want, and we can have healthy discussion as to the merits, and then have a vote if someone seconds a proposal.[/b:f681cab06b]

IMO (as 1 of 12 equal managers) is that if people don't like qksilver having 4 first round picks, they should work out that situation through trades. I am certain Niners, Cubit, and Bubba think they were adequately compensated for the picks.

e.g. 11/06/08
Qksilver B Wagner, C Jacksons, Flores, NP 1st & 3rd round FA picks
Ninersphan G Soto, Iwamura, Volquez and 4th round FA pick
Detroit-Tigers

Okay I shouldn't have said I'll walk, but the Communist crack did have a Winky  after indicating I was joking.

Other than that I though I was being intellegent and respectful presenting the other side.

I'm sorry if I offended you.

If you still feel you don't want to honor your commitments to the other leagues, that's your perogative, but one thing, I have nothing to do with USKL2, so dropping out there might not be the best way to get back at me if that's your intention.

But everyting else I said stands, I don't have a problem with what qk did, and don't beleive we should inhibit someone else from being able to do it too.

Sorry, that's just how I feel.

Having a 100 loss season on your record is punishment enough. No draft pick is worth that embarrasment. :P
