Anyone wanna take a guess as to where the quotes from and who said it??[/quote:c200949bf3]

Hannibal on the A-Team

You get the Gold star :D

Gotta love the A-Team, 4 years, 4 million bullets but nobody ever got shot. Stuff blowed up real good, but no one ever got shot.

That was every action show in the 80's. How about the 40 car pile ups on CHiP's with no serious injuries.

ThisIsRay will be providing his proxy pick to me shortly.[/quote:1970845a40]

I'm not sold on Avilles, yet. He was a 27 year old on nobody's top 100 prospects last year, who came out of no where to post a great half season, color me skepitcal.[/quote:1970845a40]

I agree I think he will be a disappointment this year. I predict a 730-750 OPS this year.[/quote:1970845a40]

Watch a few of his AB's - line drives everywhere. If nothing else he'll hit above .300 for certain.[/quote:1970845a40]

Hell I just need him to back up Furcal this season and hopefully my "other" backup SS,Tulo, will stay healthy and produce like he did in '07 so I will be set one way or the other for 2009 :)

IMO Scherzer is the steal of the draft being picked in the 3rd round.I debated long and hard about taking him instead of Aviles but decided to go with the greater needs. And for me a backup SS and pure reliever were just too more important for me.He is going to be a stud SP.

And in case I havent mentioned it before I plan on winning both seaons. :D

I will take that bet. No way he hits .300 if he has over 450AB's.

Hawk,
Avilles. for you, low risk high reward pick. I don't disagree with you taking him at all. I'm just not persaonlly sold on him yet thst's all.

and You may be right on Scherzer, although there's still quite a few nuggets left to mine in this draft. I wish I had about a half dozen picks.

I agree with you on the depth of the player pool niners. There will still be plenty of talent to choose from in the supplemental(or whatever it is going to be called) between seasons draft.

With Scherzer I love those 9K+/9 innings guys especially in a hitters park. And he is so young there is just a huge upside for him.Not that I am regretting taking Aviles and Shell over him, just wished that I had 5 or 6 straight picks to get all the guys I was flipping a coin over

I was going to take him with my second pick, but traded it for Soto. Maybe Ray will get lucky and they will use him primarily as a starter this season.
