Getting close but not finished

Postby Ninersphan » Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:45 am

First since we are nearing the end, here's the divisions in case you forgot them:

EAST
MikeLopp
thisisdan26
Old_torihunter
thisisray

CENTRAL
klx22
Madigan33
jimmullins
jerlins

WEST
Ninersphan
Onesweetworld2

nytkawk  ( Hence my drafting of stud relievers)

Any one of the eastern teams can create the league and load their teams once they've completed the draft.

$200 mil cp
DH Yes
10% drop penatly
Frenzy/waivers doesn't matter, but do frenzy

[b:78480ce6ce]PROSPECT DRAFT[/b:78480ce6ce]
We still have a 2 round prospect draft to complete. I am TOTALLY booked this weekend, and proably won't even sniff the computer, especially Saturday, so I'd like to begin Monday morning. 10 am if that's not a problem.
It's only a 2 rounder, with no clock.
I will not provide a list for this draft, frankly I wouldn't beging to know how too.

Keep in mind:

A [b:78480ce6ce][color=red:78480ce6ce]Prospect[/color:78480ce6ce] [/b:78480ce6ce]is defined as: [b:78480ce6ce]any player signed to an MLB contract that has NO MLB service time.[/b:78480ce6ce] So guys that aren't eligle in our current draft that had a cup of coffee inn the majors last year are NOT eligible in the prospect draft either, Gamel, Bowden Owens are all examples to name a few.

If you have a question on a guy, Google him, there are tons of sites out there that provide stats that will let you know if he has service time.

Once the prospect draft is completed I will send out the completed Roster spreadsheet to everyone.

Thanks

Ziegler

Postby cshannajr » Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:48 am

I'm probably not as experienced at reading the cards as most of you. But for those of you trying to win this year, why did Brad Ziegler last until the 5th round? Did I make a huge mistake taking him or something? :?

Nope,

I've been wondering the same thing and was gonna grab him with my last pick. I tooks Woods because his card is slightly better, but love Ziggys too.

Overall I'm suprised how long several of the relievers lasted, guess this is a more offensive minded bunch

Nice pick

One Other Note

Postby Ninersphan » Fri Mar 13, 2009 10:57 am

PLEASE keep your list of draftable players, the player pool that is left from our current New Player draft is the same pool we will draft from for our 3 round supplemental draft inbetween season's 1 and 2 and I won't be preparing another sheet.

Thanks.

My thinking is that aside from the few stud closers, it's hard to predict what RP's are going to have a standout year (see: Balfour, Grant). Therefore I tried to pick RP's that are either already closers or have the "stuff" for it (Devine and Francisco, for example).

Ziegler was a solid pick.[/quote:9b632d75df]

Exactly, there are 2 knocks on Ziegler, one, he's not the definte closer, Devine could wind up in the role, and he's not a strikeout pitcher and tends to put the ball in lay more than you like for a stud reliever. but for this year love his card.

PICK FOR SALE

Postby Ninersphan » Fri Mar 13, 2009 2:09 pm

The position I'm looking for is pretty picked over, I'm looking for a young 3b. and would like to trade this pick and possibly work something regarding a prospect pick swap ( I give up a higher round for a lower round)

If you have a a [b:39c08d16e1]YOUNG[/b:39c08d16e1] 3b you are willing to part with (the Melvin Mora's of the world need not apply) and would like to talk deal, PM me.
