2 Petco teams

The lineups seem good to me without going through the cards in too much detail.

The only time I had Hunter I batted him low for four main reasons, his low OBP, OK SLG, good speed to help turn the order with good runners -if they're on- and because by batting him lower I reduce his ABs and potential 15 game INJ.

With Cora 8th and Izturis 9th I think you are turning the order quite well.

A quick heads up: Double check the Casey and Rolen flanking Manny. Only reason is that I think they're both B h&r rated, with Manny's OBP you might run into some unfavorable attempts to hit and run by HAL, unfavorable not because they're bad at the H&R but because they're good enough to let them hit on their own and Manny is not that good a runner to have on the running end of that play. The order is fine vs LH and RHP just make sure they don't try to hit and run.

I am not familiar at all with Tucker's card, will take a look at it and drop a note later. On first looks your LUs seem fine IMO

Good luck.

Hey there Canuck,

Been following your team fairly closely. I know the results don't match what I'm about to say, but given the opposition you've played and the parks you've played in I think you are in much better shape than what seems apparent.

Quicky since I have to run:

A 2B zone 3, every time his defense is challenged there is a 20% chance he'll let the ball through as a hit. By cmparison a zone 2 will only allow a hit 10% of the times. It doesn't seem as much but when you consider the ammount of times the 2B x comes up and through 162 games the hits start piling up. Also to consider that when a runner is held and the defensive penalty comes in your 3 zone rated 2B becomes a 4, then he lets through 30% of hits.

Anyhoo. I've noticed your offense is still not in top shape, the gap between Est. runs scored and actual runs scored keeps growing, you are @ -50 by now. Last I wrote you were at -34. thats 16 runs in 24 games, a bit high if you ask me.

If you want to send me a PM with your managerial settings in base running and bunting and if you can the manager stats screen. I think that problem can be fixed through settings. If you don't want to it's more than cool.

Either way, all best of luck!

Hey Cummings, thanks for your help. I'm sure I can email you my manager settings. Most of the time though...I just put everything on Conservative, but lately I've put it at Normal. Maybe I should up the settings a bit? I'm as surprised as you at my offense (lack thereof).

That's what I suspected.

I believe that setting, at least base running to normal is the way to go, otherwise runners who would score from 2nd stay @ 3rd and runners who could go 1st to 3rd stop on 2nd. That can cost you more runs by stranding runners than it would cost you with the odd runner getting thrown if you run on normal. Of course, this is just my opinion.

Yeah, your opinion makes sense. I have some fast runners too so what's the point in going conservative eh? I will stick with normal and sometimes aggressive and see what happens.
