LOTO(AKA League Of their Own) 05' CONSOLATION LEAGUE

Postby cummings2 » Thu Mar 02, 2006 5:50 am

O.K. I'm in My swordfish Trombones are right next to the iceholes :D

Named my team after good ol' Tom Waits...a musical theme to my team in honor of Mr. Big. Though this whole league came about to honor the psychic...it's also paying tribute to the troubadour.

So Charlie, quite impressed with your lightning flash quickness there with "The Warriors" reference. I didn't know you like that move too. Boy I must've watched that sucker 12 times in a span of 1 week.

So, OK guys here's what I am thinking. We have a straight up league. But we still team up. Those who are game of course, like Jeff suggested good vs. bad. So, like all superheroes we have our dual identity: in the league we go by our regular team name and try to win it all ...but in the boards and behind stage...   it's smash-mouth-trashing and bashing time

The pairss compete against each other in whatever we choose later, keeping it simple. The Good Vs. The Bad. You get to have a partner in crime and together...ooh yesss it shall be done in twos you will trash the other pair...or get creamed if you're my partner.

So...

First we fill the draft card like any other league (no collusion), then we get a Partner from with the division (choose our secret identities), then we match the different pairs against each other within divisions and then...we let it fly as they say.

What's the fun of it...serious, and I mean s-e-r-i-o-u-s bragging rights and what's better than constantly humilitaing the other pair. This way we don't complicate things or spam each other to death or have to run stats or things like that...pure unadulterated 5 year old type of role playing.

...whatcha think?

I'm lacking in the literary and Strat skills with the rest of you but I'm game.

BTW, I feel left out. I'm the only team in the East that did not sweep last night!

As far as lastnight goes...Well if I gotta get swept, at least it was Cummings that did it. Man this team stinks!

I'd just like to thank Rob and his recently surging Cha-Chas for their timely sweep of my division rival. I have a feeling I am going to need every inch of breathing room I can get down the stretch.

My Invader Zims (Thank my son for that) are entered into the
new league. Tyber, you think you're lost with your draft list. I was
trying to put mine together and was being rushed so that I can take
my 4 year old to the movies (i guess I gotta sit through "Doogle" !!)

I autodraft listed, and then tweaked a couple of the players. Let's
see what I end up with !!

Trying something new here with a number of players I've never used before.

Same division as Loto Consoloation with Jeff instead of TRich.

And yes, the Cha Cha's & Coochies are looking up in the standings at the Phanatics big furry butt!!

While my trash talking will not be as creative as the rest of you I'll just make up for that in volume. :D :D

Hey Jeff...

I have a 4 yr old as well(She'll be 5 in May.) and absolutely loves movies. If you asked her what her favorite movies were - She would say "Matrix" and "Lord of the Rings". And if you asked her what she wanted to be when she grows up - She'd say a Warrior Princess - like Eaowan(I know that doesn't look right ) in the Rings Trilogy. Cool Kid.

Big, those were definitely tough late inning losses...But they were the kind of games I was losing early on my way to a 18-33 record. It took awhile, but lots of changes and sacrifices you won't often see(Like dealing away Bonds and Rivera) have paid off. When you have nothing to lose, you can experiment and make offers that people cannot refuse cuz of the quality you are offering - barry definitely has helped Chuck and it looks as tho Rivera has done well for Tyber.

I designed a team to play well at Shea - as I had a very favorable schedule coming up in the middle. So far it seemed to have paid off.

C'mon and play in the new league if you have any credits, fellas'. This is a great bunch of guys. SW :)

How the ??? do you check league mail from a league that isn't even up yet?

Methinks the trash talking has started and that's a little fart bomb that Bart kid left in my front office.

Nice...reallly nice...The team will draft, I'll be uber exited and go in there... Puffffffffff a real stinker of a message waiting for me :D  8)
