[quote:8b43b569af]is it the amount of righties versus lefties they faced during the actual season?[/quote:8b43b569af]
That's what it is.
I didn't look at how many games in front you are, but you ARE in 1st.
DPs can also occur on a 2Bx. People often talk about how there is only a 10% difference in hits allowed going from say a "2" to a "3" middle infielder, but they forget it's also a 10% difference on DPs, and GBs where the runner advances or not. This adds up to more runs scored against your pitcher.
You also need to realize that Freel is a "5" every time a runner on 1st is being held with a RHB at the plate, because someone has to cover 2nd. That's what SoCal is talking about with the "ton of hits" allowed. In this situation, 60% of 2Bx's are a hit (1-12 roll).
Buy the rules from Strat for $1.75. The should be accessible here IMO to the paying customers, but no.
I glanced at you team. How areyou doing against lefties? To me, I've never spent the big bucks on Byrne, because I see him as almost a platoon. Maybe he hits tighties better than I think. It seems to me that you could look there for money, or if Brazoban is supposed to be hard righty specialist, surely there are cheap options there for a 9R righty, using him to get that and a cheap 2B def replacement.
Usually there is there is a cheap (-$3M) LF on waivers who rakes lefties.
How did you end up without a defensive replacement by the way, with Freel at 2B? These kids today...
Playing Freel in LF is no big deal btw. It would be nice to have a late inning replacement, but it's nothing to lose sleep over. A 4e11 at 2B is.
