CLEVELAND (AP) The Cleveland club announced that it has worked out an agreement with[b:476581c663] Jose Cruz [/b:476581c663]to play his final season in Cleveland.
"I'm happy to join this club and I love the movie 'Major League'!" bellowed Jose during the press conference held at Chi Chis. "I'm very excited to patrol the outfield tracking down all those long fly balls hit by all the big hitters and the big market teams. I know working with fat Kirby will increase the value of Orel's and Roger's cards big time."
In other Cleveland team news, [b:476581c663]Bill Veeck[/b:476581c663] has agreed to serve as the marketing director for this season. Perhaps best remembered for sending midget Eddie Gaedel to bat in a game against the Tigers at St. Louis in 1952, Veeck was baseball's most imaginative promoter. Insiders report that Veeck is an admitted publicity hound but an imaginative innovator who frequently upset other club owners with his proposals and stunts.
Insiders report that Veeck will conduct [i:476581c663]Innocent Bystander Manager's Day [/i:476581c663]- involving forum posting experts who will direct the team's adding and dropping of slumping blue chip player cards through out the year.
