It's all good here, a little suprising to see this much activity at this point in the season, but no problems with the deals.

[quote:5aa17d95dc="old__toriihunter"]I love how Andruw Jones has been traded twice already. It might as well be called "Andruw Jones' expiring contract", like they do in the NBA.

In other news, he ate another cheeseburger yesterday.[/quote:5aa17d95dc]

And made the rangers as a 5th OF, so who knows maybe he'll find his way back to being a useful player.

Still a tad confusing on the rules. :( Does OTH now have to drop a player, or prospects not part of the equation? It's not that the rules aren't specific, I'm just a wee bit dumb.

Hmm, not sure where your confusion lies, but I'll try to answer your question,

OTH, traded 1 active player for 1 active player and 1 prospect.

You are allowed to have up to 10 prospects on your rosters at any time, so by adding 1 he still isn't anywhere near 10, having only 3. Branyan for Jones is a wash in the active player area, so no drops are needed for this deal.

Put another way, you are actually allowed a grand total of 50 players, 40 Active and 10 propsects. We just won't get to 50 soon. It will take a couple of prospect drafts and/or trades for any of us to get to 10 prospects and even then, if we've done our homework, we should start promoting or releasing some them.
The real "fun" is once the prospects we drafted have "matured", that is, been on our prospect roster for 2 years, and they still haven't been promoted by their MLB teams.
We'll have to decide whether or not we want to keep them by promoting them to our active 40 man roster or realease them because our rules state we have to promote or cut after 2 years.

Hope that answers your question/clears your confusion. But if not, keep asking, that's what I'm here for, well that and all the record keeping.

PS.
Is there anything worse than leading your division with a losing record? I know it's early but if we get to about 70 games and I'm in the same boat I can't think of a worse position to be in. Part you thinks, "gotta sell and get ready for next year cause I can't compete with the other division leaders", but on the other hand if the oppurtunity is there for a post season, don't I have to buy and go for it. Hate being in that frame of mind.
