AutoDraft Mistake?

It does but it doesn't bernie. When I draft Koufax I am not wanting a starter/reliever swing man I am drafting a starter. Very good chance I am wanting a starter as a substitute and I do not care if he is S only or S/R.

I accept that this is not a bug as it works as designed. But to me this is incorrect design that needs fixing. Perhaps there could be some kind of indicator what our plans are. If we could specify we plan on using this draft pick as a starter only or as a reliever only or as both it would help tremendously.

While on the subject same applies to all positions. When any player plays multiple positions we should be able to specify what we want substituted if we do not get the player. Maybe I draft Rose with plans to use him at third. That means I have drafted another LFer and do not need another. I need a third baseman substituted. Or maybe it is other way around and I picked a second third baseman and I need a LFer substituted.

We need to be able to control/influence the substitution of players more in the autodraft. Being able to specify a position would go a long way toward that.

I think this a case as to where the autodraft needs to be fixed. Getting a S/R isn't that big of a deal...but if you are trying to draft a Koufax who is a * pitcher and get an Adams instead..that screws up a draft card completely. Now I have to waste a waiver pick to get a * pitcher back or in a frenzy use up valuable seconds.

Or...yea...what valen said! :D

if the abpve by Bernie is true....then why when you draft Eck who is an R only...do you get Narleski if you miss Eck?

I agree 100% with that. I've lost count of the number of times I have ended up with Bob Feller, when I have been trying to put together a 4-man staff. To me the * seems more significant than the S/R.
