Advice for Fenway '67 team

Postby terpfan61764 » Sat Mar 04, 2006 3:13 am

Any advice on this Fenway '67 team.... first time playing in ATG so tried to get my teams in different types of parks. Got one in Dogers 77 and Memorial 70. So, I'll probably try and pick your brains as much as I can.

I know this is sacrilege, but I'd consider Mcormick or Cooper at first and use the money to upgrade my middle d and pick up a 4th starter. You have a hellish good outfield. Jackie R. would be good at third and leadoff, too.

Many of your pitchers have too many BP HRs and will struggle.

Is this a DH league? You have Mantle and Thomas in CF and need a corner OF. Alou would be a good option if he's available.

Also, I normally prefer more hitting from 3b on Fenway teams. His d is awful, but Money would provide power.

Have to agree with TomP. The 300 plus homeruns you will have will be offset by an ERA of around 6. You need some deadball era pitchers, even some of the cheaper ones. Also, there isn't really a placesetter on this team, something I have found to be important even with power teams.
