Yeah, I had expected my '86 team to be the worst, but they're holding their own around .500. My '08 team has been a disaster though...Tim Hudson has been getting pounded harder than Apollo Creed v Ivan Drago!

Besides me, is anyone else experiencing what Keyzick describes, where the teams you expected to be also-rans are competing? My 69 team is really holding its own, despite no real #4 starter. There's a lot of parity in the 69 and 86 leagues this time around.

Paul....I must have had some temporary difficulties. The standings are coming up again just fine now.
However, as Keyzick mentioned earlier.....I really don't want to see it.

The race is getting exciting...if only my 08 team could pick up the slack!

Keyzick....I would take your 36-51 record in the '08 season! My 32-55 2008 record has single-handedly knocked me down in the overall standings to where I can't get up. What a trainwreck those guys are.

However, after a 10-5 night last night, I feel that my 5 squads are ready to make their push to the top and unseed Paul at #1. OK....maybe I'll shoot for 9th place first.

Since the 08 games don't yet affect manager ratings (I think they wait til the first championships are finished), only the FATY teams I have going currently affect that rating. So it's cool to look at my first team's boxscores the next morning and see my rating has climbed 5 points overnight...obviously means I'll have fun looking over the rest of my FATY boxscores!

All relates to Kev's noting his teams went 10-5 last night...that's always a good feeling (especially if you're knocking off Paul's teams! )

Anybody got a playoff team

Postby roofinghorse » Tue Apr 21, 2009 6:08 am

that they want to trade for a better record non-playoff team? :)
Tied for 4th in the standings overall and not a single eligible playoff team.........YET

Still working on that.

I got my 80's team in contention finally by tweaking everything in sight. Guerrero's and Van Slyke's worst cards but playing them exclusively against RHsp but I don't know how long that experiment will last.

4 teams over .500 and not 1 playoff eligible.
Back to tweaking.

Well CR, I have a couple playoff contenders and 3 crappy teams. I'm not sure if I would want 5 winning non-playoff teams or my situation. It's an interesting conundrum. I will trade my 2008 40-68 team and my '86 47-61 teams....if anyone is interested!

I can pretty much count out my 08 team...my 69 team has a fighting chance still. The other 3 would be in if the season ended today, but I'm worried about my '86 team fading...they're doin' it with smoke and mirrors right now.

Is Fred going to win this thing again? That would be unreal. All hail FAaron. :P
