Not quite the top stud this year, but maybe Beckett will stay healthy and be one next year. Hate to lose Soto, but have Martin already and the picks should help.

KD since no one else did, I will. Beckett looked great in his first outing & @ my losing pace currently, it looks like I handed you the first overall picks in both the supplemental draft & fa draft! :cry:

I saw him too Keith and he did look great. Unfortunately for Beckett, that injury bug just seems to follow him around and around. IF he can stay healthy he is a stud...the problem is staying healthy.

I think you'll be happy with Soto - I really didn't want to trade him and wouldn't have if I didn't have Russell Martin as my other catcher. Soto's upside, according to most everything I've read, is pretty damn high and they are already projecting him as one of the top 2 or 3 catchers in baseball.

I'm bummed Soto isn't mine, especially after our inital talks where you indicated Volquez was "interesting", and I asked what that meant and didn't get any response at all.

Next thing I know Soto is klx22's.

Sorry Bill - I was hoping for a stud pitcher the likes of Halladay or Santana and didn't think Volquez was that guy....yet. Then Keith swoops in and makes me the offer -

You know I don't like to play the Scott Boras game - pit one manager against another in a bidding war - and figured you wouldn't want to part with the players/picks to get Soto. So I took the deal.

Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers, especially yours. Lord knows you've been beat up enough lately in other leagues.

For those of you that haven't heard, Nick Adenhart - a good looking young pitching prospect for the LA Angels (and a prospect of mine) was killed by a drunk driver last night after a great pitching performance against the A's.

Another bright light snuffed out by a damned drunk driver. As one almost killed by a drunk driver myself, this really hits too close to home. I'm starting to think that ALL cars need to be equipped with the "blow into the tube" machine that keeps it from starting if alcohol registers.
