Sac--your link is incorrect--you'll need to cut and paste a URL that has your id# in it--try league stats and right click from that URL
Canuk--Notice I said hitters who play good D. You need good D. And without seeing the rest of the Petco team that went to the finals--saying you had nathan and gordon doesn't really yield anything convincing.
Remember you're getting feedback that's unique to your team and its div and the other players you have on your team. I also said you [i:593a5fee1b]can[/i:593a5fee1b] win with different strategy but it's far less common, as I think you've seen personally and from many posters.
Regarding Coors, I don't know--in legitimate (i.e., non-theme type leagues) leagues I've seen Coors teams do well that had solid bats but very solid pitching. Folks like Oswalt, Clemens, Shields, Mahay etc. If you throw guys on your staff with 5 BPHRs on each side and 25 -30 OBs with full BP singles, they'll get trounced. If you're referring to 2003, that was a whole different deal--much different pricing structure made certain players very underpriced.
Plus, it still depends on your division--are you employing specialty staffs due to one-sided opponents or parks? That makes a huge difference. You can't just make statements like "the best 2B choice for all teams is:". It depends. I'd play Loretta with Izturis and maybe a cheap 2e backup if I had a team that was smacking XBHs. If you put Loretta at the top of the order on a team that otherwise relies on high OBs, SI**, and not much XBH power, coupled with his marginal D, it could prove his net worth to be lower than a team that just wants him on base to knock him in outright.
i.e., he's not an auto-hold I don't believe and runs at something like a 1-14 clip. Not ideal for a small ball team unless he's your run producer.
One thing about 2005 is I think there were more ways/styles to win with--there's no one lineup that will win every time--believe me folks would find it. The pricing was much better this year I think (granted there were still good player combinations that seemed to win more often than not)
