Now Hear This...

This is your commanding officer speaking...tomorrow at 0700 this platoon will double time it by going to the 2-hour clock.

That is all.

(really...I love this USMC theme)

Fatty has the clock until 10:40pm. After that, Yountfan can pick.

It looks like Sean has a back pick... Fenway Park?
If you're still out there, you still have time to correct the pick.

You beat me to my hallowed Fenway in the Panzer League, Mr. Bacchus. I can't let you take it from me here too

I was going to wait one more round to pick it, but I knew with you in this draft, it would be gone. Sorry brother !!

The clock has been changed to 2 hours. Fletch...if you don't pick sometime tonight, you have until 9am tomorrow to pick.

Be prepared Semper...if Fletch picks tonight you'll want your proxies set, or you'll have to pick tomorrow morning while your still in your USMC emblem jammies and fuzzy slippers.

Bj...don't go near the sleeping chair tomorrow.

Fatty...don't make me send the MP's after you.

Hi There Sean,
Funny thing is, I got this league confused in my head with the Panzer league (lots of similar USMC themed teams?) and have been building this team with Fenway in mind thinking I already had the ballpark. Not a team busting mistake, just a brain fart.

It's 7 AM and we are back on the clock. Visick is up for two picks.

Visick didn't have any proxies fire, so we may be in for a wait. It's 4:15am on the west coast. Unless he does the manly thing like poking Mrs. Visick in the ribs and telling her to "go downstairs and make 2 picks for me", we probably have 2 hours to burn.

So while we are waiting...here's a list of guys who I thought were steals as later-than-shoulda-been picks so far:

#11 Mike Schmidt- He is a top 4 pick in my opinion. Few players in this game can actually carry a mediocre team to victory. Schmidty is one of them.

#27 Will Clark- (see above)

#33 Orel Hershiser- Sempers eyes must have bugged out to see this shut-down starter available with the 33rd pick.

#82 Oscar Gamble- He has it all...the power, the OBP, the low salary, and the "fro".

#91 Dennis Eckersley- Ends games, period.

#108 Tom Henke- (see above)

Anyone else?

I actually lost sleep last evening that I would have convinced myself that Henke would still be there in three picks in the 9th round. I let the run on second baseman shake my composure and I jumped the gun on Frank White. While Frank is a very solid second base pick, there were at least three decent alternatives on the board. Henke is the best reliever in the set, since IMHO Eck is too much $$ with the ballpark HR's. On the plus side, I simply could not believe that Schmidt made it all the way down to #11. Regarding Will Clark, I was going to take him with my second round pick, but decided to give Mattingly a try for the first time in 20+ teams.

I may have missed the memo, but I have two questions;
A.) Is the draft going beyond 16 rounds
B.) Is everyone managing their picks so that their roster falls within the $80M limit.
