Missed Pick order

I missed out on Ripken, listing him second or third on the draft list, I wound up with Burrelson. WHAAA? What is the order of players if you missed your player. Does any veteran have a list compiled?

If you missed someone (and I am shocked that you missed Ripken 2nd or 3rd) you get the next most expensive player who has the same main position that hasnt been drafted by someone else (or hasnt been given to someone who picked Ripken, for example, higher but didnt get him either. There are not that many main position SSs.
So, if you miss Ripken you get Trammel-but there are at least 2 people who tried to draft Trammel. OK, so then it goes to Larkin who may not have been picked-but all 3 people who went for Trammel picked Trammel in the 1st or 2nd round (and you picket Ripken third lets say) so one of them gets Larkin. NExt up is Ozzie. Forget it. then there is Fernandez who may have been picked by someone or may go to the guy who picked Ozzie or Trammel in the 2nd round and didnt get him. Then there is Burrelson. Ta Da. Just first pick Yount next time.

What about other people that show up at SS? where do they fit in? Is there a list from top to bottom of people that will be picked in order in each position? It makes it better knowing that if you miss winfield you get T. Gwynn than if you miss someone and end up with Jose canseco and know that he cannot field....

Each and every player is counted at their first listed position. There is no way to see this list at a glance but if you set the search by position it makes it easier to tell. You have to click on each person to see ifthat position is their first position but you will very quickly figure it out. for example when you search SS you get a lot of SSs with fielding of "4" Most of these are not primary shortstops.

I have in fact got Canseco when trying for Winfield. You can also get Andre Dawson. Generally, if you try for Yount and are lucky you get Eric Davis. Otherwise you may gat Von Hayes. Go for Rickey and you might get Guerrero (very good) or Baker (overpriced). Go for Clemens and get Ryan (not good) or Soto (very good). SS is a tough position. It is very populat and there are not that many good ones. You were "lucky" to get Burrelson.
