The draft is kind of important because the teams picking at the top do have an advantage that will be erased by going with a autodraft. Not that it's a HUGE advantage, but still an advantage.[/quote:4e0c5212ac]
Sorry I've been incommunicado. We left home early today and just got back.
I'm glad to hear there is interest in keeping OSG going. I was starting to think we were growing tired of the on-going nature of the league.
It's been my contention all along that what Bill said above is right. Teams that do finish lower in the standings should have first crack at the best rookies and free agents. Has it helped? Hard to say, but I'd like to think so.
The problem here isn't the draft, but the slowness. Still, knowing some of the guys we have in this league and their schedules, I would hope we can wait them out. Right now we're waiting on Rob. We've all been in plenty of leagues with him and know that if he's not checking the boards he has something going on. I just don't feel right abandoning our league rules because someone has issues that get in the way of making a pick.
So, if it's ok with everyone let's get through the four round draft and allow us also-rans a chance to catch the big boys. Several guys have passed on their e-mail addresses or cell phone numbers, so that should help!
BTW, if you are interested here are the franchise records through 2005:
