Live draft...why not?

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

I actually lost sleep last evening that I would have convinced myself that Henke would still be there in three picks in the 9th round. I let the run on second baseman shake my composure and I jumped the gun on Frank White. While Frank is a very solid second base pick, there were at least three decent alternatives on the board. Henke is the best reliever in the set, since IMHO Eck is too much $$ with the ballpark HR's. On the plus side, I simply could not believe that Schmidt made it all the way down to #11. Regarding Will Clark, I was going to take him with my second round pick, but decided to give Mattingly a try for the first time in 20+ teams.

I may have missed the memo, but I have two questions;
A.) Is the draft going beyond 16 rounds
B.) Is everyone managing their picks so that their roster falls within the $80M limit.

It's coming up on 9AM.
I'm heading out for about an hour or so with the family in about 15 minutes..
Does Visisk have another two hours to pick? I am thinking yes?
My proxy picks are turned on, but they will not fire until Visick picks or I get back to the house.

The #1 reason I selected Sutter instead of Henke.

OK...time expired on Visick's first pick at 9am EST. Now he is on his second pick until 11am.

By the way...IMB brought up a great point. Please make sure you can afford all 15 of your selections, and still turn in a legal 25 man draft card to HAL. :roll:

You guys must be good. I have participated in live drafts with top players in all the other games, just reaching the finals with some 2005 vets and I just finished an ATG II draft with some top players and like my team very much. This is the first time in a draft that I really as at a loss as to what to do on certain picks. My picks were flying of the draft board more than in any other draft Ive been in. I'm hoping the luck factor will give my squad a needed boost.

Sorry guys...

My proxies weren't on. It's hard making sure you've got proxies set and trying to put your 2 year old to sleep at the same time.

Gonna pick right now...

If I may make a suggestion...

Just in case you can't get your team down under the $80 million cap, we could announce who we are dropping AND picking up. (In order to get under the cap).

I suggest if we do this, that we do it before we draft our team in TSN.
