It's hard on this first draft to get a feel for when guys are going to go. That's why it was a tough call.

yeah, you're right, it *is* a weird position this year.

Looks like Big M's time has been up for about 10 minutes. I guess C2 can pick if he wants to.

Only 1 I wanted of the 4 you picked was Bradley, but thought he'd slide lower due to the injury. Was hoping to get him in about 3 rounds.

interesting. Now I'm wondering if we reached on all of these guys. :(

I gotta think that someone would have taken Oswalt, it's about that time and maybe Silver was interested in McCann over Baker? :?

Big M or C2 can pick at any time.......

Totally differnt story if this is a 100 mil league, but right now I've got my "big ticket" items and need to start finding cheaper guys, every guy you just took was 5.2mil or more, so as i said I was interested in 1 of them..

Ramirez is platoonable, and therefore not worth the Money IMHO.
I NEVER pay big money for a Catcher in an 80mil league
and I have my Ace( defined as any SP over 5.5mil) in Lowe.
Hence the only guy I wanted was Bradley.

Other may disagree, but those are my reasons, remember I've got to fit Ludwick on my squad.

and FWIW, your picks didn't touch my proxy list, that may say more about my choices then yours tough.

NP,

Some good points there. Having Oswalt and Haren is a luxury, but we have to stay at least the same realm as AT's pitching. ;)

A Ram is sort of a platooner, but we liked having his RHB v RHP. But, weren't sure if anyone else would want him for the reasons you mention.

We liked McCann for his power and his 1 injury chance which is rare for a CA. Thought about going with Baker however, but probably wouldnt' have taken him there so, assuming Silver didn't prefer McCann, we would have lost out on him.

I think you have some solid reasons, especially in light of the 10+ mil Ludwick hanging around.

The pick that is screwing me up the most is C2's 4th round pick of Jack Wilson. I figured him for no earliear than 7th round at least and was hoping to nab him later on, again to balance out the big ticket of Ludwick.
SS and 3b are going to be tough for me to fill with guys I like due to pricing.

All proving my agreement with AT's point about 100mil vs 80mil league.

Well, of course, drafting 100 mil team is easy, but it certainly less challenging too. I like the challenge of fitting guys in, making tradeoffs, etc. 100 mill teams are usually an exercise in taking the best guy available for the most part.

That being said, I understand that some guys like taking the (easy ;)) 100 mil route and I'm fine with whatever the group decides next time around.

We're moving again, up to cheap. Big M got skipped.

p.s. if it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't have expected Wilson so soon either.

Stoney got Peavy from me, I was definitely picking him there.

Can't believe McLouth was still on the board. I'll be glad to stick him at a corner spot. J.D. was going to be my target, but since McLouth is a far less inj. risk and still available I took him. Maybe I spoiled someone's CF plans in the process.
