We'll use the same scoring system as Barnstormers for the rankings here. One point for each regular season win, five points for making the playoffs, five points for making the finals, and ten points for a championship.

MVP - and 1st [b:cc389c5428]Triple Crown Winner [/b:cc389c5428] - Jimmie Foxx (A's) hitting .369 with 64 HR and 159 RBI. He also led the league in runs scored with 147, OPS at 1.219 and Slugging with .756.

Cy Young - Dick Radatz (Red Sox) with a league leading 44 saves. He went 10 and 5 with a 2.30 ERA and a WHIP of 1.14. Radatz is the second reliever in a row to win the Cy Young.

Wins leader - (tie) Cy Young (Red Sox) 20-12, Bert Blyleven 20-12 (Pirates) and Ted Lyons (White Sox) 20-14

ERA leader - Walter Johnson (Twins) 2.03 (exactly the same result as season 7) and he led the league with a 0.98 WHIP.

The Twins swept the Red Sox. The A's got by the Braves in 4 and then beat the Twins in sevens games for the championship. Eckersly had 2 wins and a save in the championship.

MVP - Barry Bonds (Pirates) leading the league with 75 HR, while hitting .329 with 183 RBI. He led the league in OPS at 1.188 and Slugging with .778.

Cy Young - Dazzy Vance (Yankees) going 22 and 11 with a 3.97 ERA and a WHIP of 1.29. He struck out a league leading 346 batters.

Batting Champ - Ted Williams (Red Sox) .379.

RBI leader - Hank Aaron (Braves) 189.

Wins leader - Three Finger Brown (Cardinals) 24-11. There were 10 twenty game winners.

ERA leader - Chief Bender (A's) 3.21.

Tris Speaker (Twins) stole 54 bases.

Goose Gossage (Yankees) saved 42 games.

The Braves scored 1034 runs

The White Sox led the league in ERA (4.52)

Playoffs

The Yankees got by the Twins in 5 with Dazzy Vance collecting 2 wins. The Cardinals took the Pirates in 5 with Johnny Mize hitting 3 home runs and driving in 8 and then beat the Yankees in six for the championship. Sutter had 3 saves in the champioship series.

The White Sox took the Dodgers in 4 while the Orioles did the same to the Pirates. Then Championship series went a full 7 games with the White Sox claiming the championship, their second. Bobby Bonds hit three home runs in the series, each in a White Sox win.
