You are fine Gordie - Charlie Hustle is a good pcik! Bonds strikes out 200 times! (which, admittedly, is 200 non DP's). I learned that from Risden - a K is sometimes good!

I picked up two 2B's through the proxy process.

Anyboy interested in either Dick Green or Joe Morgan? All serious (and some not-so-serious offers) will be considered on my Private Message.

[quote:19328d14b7="GordieHowe"]Screwed up my first proxy attempt, but figured out what I did wrong. Got Pete Rose instead of Bobby Bonds. No big deal in the long run I hope.[/quote:19328d14b7]

Hi Gordie - Check your Private Messages Mailbox. Maybe we can swing a deal...

TRADE COMPLETED!!!!!

Postby Risden » Sun May 03, 2009 4:00 pm

I have traded DICK GREEN to RJNewman for DAVE BOSWELL.

Both players have already been drafted; no disruption to the draft or trading of picks involved.

Game 7 tonight - Winter '69

Postby GFDWARF07 » Mon May 04, 2009 7:13 am

Somehow my Winter of Discontent has forced a 7th game in the finals against sneezedoc and Budget Deficit. In game 6 last night Boog Powell's 3-run homer in the top of the 9th was the difference as we tied the series 3-3 with a 3-0 win. Nolan Ryan got the win, pitching 2 innings in relief and striking out four. Tonight it's the two aces, Stottlmyre against Dierker.

I am frankly happy to have made it this far against his juggernaut.

And just for some information applicable to the current league, Jerry Moses, who I have been calling John all year, is hitting .556 and slugging .861 with 3 2B's and 2HR's in the playoffs. And he's still on the board!

Oh, and Tony Perez, who Bob quickly snatched-up already is leading my team in the playoffs with 3HR and 12RBI - one of the best values in the set!

Yeah, 1969 was Jerry Moses' "career" year even though he made the All-Star team in 1970.

This was one of my favorite baseball cards as very few cards at that time were actual game shots.

Lets play "Name those players". Can you name the 3 players below in a 2007 picture? All 3 of them have a Strat card in the 1969 game.
