Help in Kingdome

First time in Kingdome and could use some help.

The team is doing very well but I am pretty sure I have Steib's worst year. It happens. righties hitting .264, lefties .371. somehow he has more wins than Hig who is posting a 1.00 whip at Kingdome. Go figure.

However, batters are hitting .318 against Reuschel, pretty evenly split R and L. Andujar doing much better against righties than lefties so probably one of his 3 worst years. The thing I like about Reuscel and Andujar are that their worst years are still relatively better than picking some random SP free agent.

What I would like to know is if they're numbers are "good" for Kingdome or if you think I really do have their worst years.

Blylevan has been dropped with a 1.38 WHIP and 5.22 ERA. I usually pick him up no matter what the year but I think that his 86 card sure does have alot of BPHRs (and I would have to dump 2 pitchers to afford him) so I might be better off just dumping Steib and picking up another 5mill starter.

Basic point is -what kind of WHIP/ERAs do people see in the Kingdome?

I dont have a guideline for you just based on your park. I would compare yourself to the league as a whole. With a K-dome team, I would shoot for best offense and if I could be middle of the pack in pitching, that would be great. I think you can use that when comparing what your pitchers are doing. It is always harder to ID cards in a extreme park. For Byleven, it may be worth going back and looking at his starts for the other team. How many HRs did he give up? It may not be significant, or it could help make up your mind about his card.

Could use some help? You're in first place with a .667 winning pct!! I don't think you need help.

You might want to ride Stied a little longer but I agree that it looks like you have his worst card. Higuera's making outs but he is giving up the longball. I bet the wins will start coming for him if he keeps getting the outs, though.

I would agree with Panzer that you probably don't need as much invested in your starting pitching. It doesn't look like you need much help with your hitting or bullpen either, though. Perhaps post some of the FA starters that are available in your league and people can help you find a good replacement for Stieb, who's suited for Kingdome.

I got lucky in the draft and the waivers-had to happen sometimes. But just because the team is scoring at will, at the moment, doesnt mean I am "not" going to dump a bad Stieb. I was just wondering what other peole's experiences were in the Kingdome.

Ive played in Wrigley a couple of times and figured the Kingdome would just be a more extreme example. Pitchers that have ERAs of 2.50 in Oaklan are 3.50-4.00 in Wrigley, but here they are like 5.00. didnt think there would be that much of a difference.

Hey, Adam. Penngray is in your league with a Kingdome team. He's at 24-18 and has pretty similar #s overall. He's at 4.46/1.41, while you're at 4.49/1.36. His SP looks pretty solid. Burns was an obvious replacement. He's probably staring at Niedenfuer's splits right now and it's too early to tell on Burke. Very good Kingdome pitching staff. On O, you're slightly better - he's scored 248 runs with 85 HRs and 267/491/341, you've scored 257 with 75 HRs and 287/503/353. I wouldn't do much except wait for Stieb to implode and perhaps give Mike Young some more ABs.

ya, I think there are alot of inexperienced people in the league and I lucked out with the easier division. Also, lots of people like small ball leaving alot of good players on the waiver wire (where I scooped up Pucket 3rd or 4th after Brett and Yount). There were so many good 1Bs available that I got Cooper post-waivers!

Looks like I could possibly have Young's good year and I have let him start whole 3 game series when Pedro or others have been out for a game or two, but who am I going to sit out? back to the bench Young.

Its really hard to tell what card you have in Kingome. Parker, for instance seems to be hitting poorly except he has 10HRs.

Still waiting to figure out is I should dump Steib now or wait a little and, if my pitchers continue to falter, dump 2 of them for Blylevan - or Fernando (4 bad starts), Drabek (3 bad starts), a fresh BBlack or some non *SPs.

As a man that has played a lot of Kingdome teams (what can I say, chicks love the longball.) unless you have a guy with a whip over 1.6 and an era over 6 if he is winning ride him. If he is losing dump him. I have found that your junk pitchers seem to do a little better at the dome. Why waste the money on starters when normally they are going to get rocked. Spend it on hitting and relievers. Of course what do I know I have never won a title. :cry:
