70s league declining popularity?

Postby Larryrickenbacker » Tue May 05, 2009 7:50 pm

Howdy,

At the risk of sounding like I'm pressing the panic button, would it appear that the 70s league is declining in popularity? The most recent league I've joined (TSN league 13881) has been stalled at 3 teams for 4 days, while it had just [i:d55e183e9f]one[/i:d55e183e9f] team for at least 3 more days prior.
I noticed that my last 70s league took longer to fill than it took as last Summer. Anyone? (btw, I hope I'm mistaken here; maybe SOM participation fluctuates?)

Larry, part of the slow response could be that 12 regular 70's managers are in the final week of the FATY League, where they each are managing 5 teams simultaneously. I'll bet you see thing pick up in a week or so.

Also Jablowmis Tournament is going to the final round and there's a live 70's/80's draft going on. Not to mention the weather is finally breaking up North here and people can go outside and see the sun again.

Hang tight Larry...I'm in that same League and I'll wait with ya. They will come...

Sounds logical

Howdy,

Pwootten and Jimmy C: Thanks for the replies. Your explanations seem logical. Good luck this season. :)

Its funny because the same question has been asked on the ATG message board, the 80's board, and Fantasim board. I agree with what has been said are certainly some reasons. However, I don't think you can overlook the times we're in. For a lot of people there is not more disposable income than previously. I can tell you personally that with having a 6 month old baby at home now, money goes faster than previously. No matter how hard I try to convince my wife...she claims diapers and formula are more important than SOM!

You are right it's the economy. But hopefully we can get government cash to feed our SOM addiction.

jayhawk,

After the performance of my last 70's team I'm most certainly looking for a bailout. Wall Street looks like a thriving metropolis compared to my recent team!!!

IF SN wants more leagues filling

They should lower the team fee. Offer some discounted 5 packs and watch the leagues fill up.
