Well, we would need to do it as 2 separate drafts if we were to draft the remaining players as well. I think it would be easier if we were to just autodraft the remaining players.
If the majority of the people think a live draft would be better and we have an easy way to do it, then I'd be fine with it.

I think we should have a live draft and keep the same order. I have the second pick! I would like to draft live as being on the left coast and getting home at 6pst all players are gone. As for a new lotto for draft order I will go with whatever you decide. Mike

I'd vote to autodraft the remaining players. Only 12 studs will be picked, and theres plenty of studs to go around. After that it's cheapo guys...why spend the time live drafting them? You would also have to setup 2 more live drafts (1 for the 70's and 1 for the 80's and eliminate ineligeables in both). UGH!!

Autodraft is the way to go.

Unless we have more votes for a live draft, Autodraft will be the way to go.

I strongly recommend that we put the drafted players at the front of our draft cards to help avoid any mistakes with someone trying to draft the wrong person in their autodrafted list of players. That will assure that the person who accidentally puts Jim Sundberg on their 80's draft card will not get him because he'll be at the end of the list, while I have him at the top of my list.

In a live draft/autodraft combo draft it is typical to put the live drafted players AT THE END of your AD card which would prevent 1 wiseacre from cleaning up by having easy pickings on the undrafted players. You are going to get your live drafted players even if someone goofs up and puts them on their AD card. If you see this you just make a post that that player is yours and the other owner will drop him for you to pick up. It is not a secret who you live drafted. The whole league can see you are the rightful owner.

you guys make good points on the auto-draft so that works for me as well

Just one last thought - how about a message board draft of our studs? we would run a randomizer for both the 70s and 80s and draft right here, should go quickly.

LMBombers, you make a great point. Though I do trust everyone here, it makes sense to put them at the end of the draft card. We will do it that way.

I don't have a problem live drafting the studs. I actually have an interesting idea. We can do 1 2-round draft, random order of course instead of 2 separate drafts.
That way you choose if your first pick will be a 70's or 80's player, and you'll have to draft from the other player pool when it comes back around to you.
That way if the player with the #1 pick takes a 70's player, they'll have last choice on the 80's players. Likewise, the #2 pick could choose to have first pick on the 80's players, but will have last choice on the 70's when it comes back around.
How's that for an idea?
