[quote:895971c0ae="gorshar"]I'm up for another. I don't think it really matters where we put the cap because we'll adjust ourselves as we've done here and ultimately all the top tier players get claimed.

Why not make it $200 mil???

Hey, $50 mil for Ruth!!!!

$10 mil for Buck Martinez!!![/quote:895971c0ae]

10 mill for Buck .... one can only dream!!

Just in case there are any females amongst us, I feel it is only appropriate to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Speaking of females, rumour (rumor), has it that Buck Martinez may have been a little light in the loafers!

As we get closer to the finish line, just a reminder that each manager ensures they meet the roster requirements. 10 Pitchers, with required number of SP's and RP's, and two Catchers.

By my count, we need a total of 86 more players on our rosters, of those just 20 pitchers.
We're really getting to the end now.
Of the last 75 nominated players, 42 have been pitchers and 33 hitters. The pitchers get nominated, last 24-36 hours, and are gone. Hitters are still getting multiple bids. For example, in the timespan in which Arky Vaughan was on the market (8 days), 11 pitchers were nominated AND sold, while only two hitters were nominated AND sold (Youngs and Winfield).

Bob Boone's Thoughts

Postby DOHowser1 » Wed May 13, 2009 11:12 am

In regard to Bob Boone's idea of setting up a new league where we each have two teams, I think it just might work and be a lot of fun. Count me in.

My main concern would be whether I would still be alive by the time we finished drafting two teams.

What a challenge that auction would be, huh? I like the idea, too.
Crafting two teams at once for two separate leagues, but using only one player pool . . . yikes!

Of course, that would be 600 players drafted and probably 9 months, BUT. . . I LOVE this auction style that we're doing. It really draws out the team building fun that I enjoy most.

I agree that it sounds fun, and will go along if the majority does, but personally I'd like to keep it to one team/auction at a time. This has been complex enough in my simple view.

If you look at the composition of the teams this round, we all have experimented with a strategy or 2/3/4 and I think everyone might enjoy a chance to employ the lessons learned here in a similar auction (i.e. similar rules for minimums, cap, etc.). Versus something entirely new where we have to learn how it works again.

Just my 2 cents.
