Just to help out those who have not been active in the last day or so, here's a quick summary:
HITTERS:
When gorshar was awarded Tony Fernandez and Walker Cooper on May 19, this completed his roster. So, the two vacant hitter spots slid to the next manager, who is ldanred.
ldanred nominated Darrell Porter for one of these vacancies on May 21.
ldanred nominated Robin Ventura for the other vacancy on May 21.
When Mr.BBW was awarded Johnny Pesky, he nominated Al Kaline on May 19. Kaline is still on the market.
PITCHERS:
When mjruth was awarded Jack Pfiester on May 20, this completed his pitching roster. So the vacant pitcher nomination slid to the next manager, who is Palanion.
Palanion nominated Don Sutton at 0.9, which was more than ldanred could bid. The only other person with pitching needs was DonFESQ, but he required pitchers who could relieve, so Sutton was automatically awarded to Palanion.
Palanion then nominated Andy Messersmith at .50, which again prevents ldanred from bidding. DonFESQ passed on the pitcher, which automatically awarded Messersmith to Palanion, completing Palanion's pitching roster. So the vacant pitching spot slid to the next manager, who is ldanred.
ldanred nominated Ed Willet, who DonFESQ could not acquire (not RP), thus automatically being awarded Willet. ldanred then nominated Dick Rudolph and Jack Quinn, both of whom DonFESQ passed on, automatically awarding them to ldanred, completing his pitching roster.
With DonFESQ being the only person left needing pitching, he nominated and was awarded four pitchers at the .50 minimum.
There is no longer a need for pitchers.
I agree that we should thus have FIVE hitters on the market at a time. My suggestion is to have DonFESQ nominate the two requisite hitters, since Don was awarded players from those nomination slots.
Status:
Kaline - Mr. Baseball World - 1.6
Porter - ldanred - 0.5
Ventura - ldanred - 0.5
