NLD XXII

Jeep - it's because Crawford is a 1 in LF & McLouth a 1 in CF. In that case, HAL is PHing for somebody else (Phillips, a RH who can't hit RH) with Crawford, and Beltran's turn in the lineup is not coming up for a while, essentially an NL-style double switch. HAL then wants to stick the best lineup it can find, & instead of just subbing Crawford for McLouth, it moves McLouth to CF & Crawford to RF, probably b/c McLouth is better than Beltran vs RH & his turn is coming up sooner...

I realize that...What I prefer is simply Castillo sub for Phillips who was pinch hit for. I still would have excellent defense; Crawford's 1 and McLouth's 1 doesn't come close to being more beneficial than what losing Beltran's bat does, regardless of when he'll (Beltran) bat next.

Again, I understand what you're saying. Crawford comes in as a 1 and McLouth moves from a 2 to a 1,,but leaving Beltran in I still have a 2 and a 1 while keeping Beltran's bat in there.

Me don't like the thought process here.

Interesting to see that the team with a .667 winning pct  goes out and makes some moves. Silver, what the heck, you weren't good enough as it was!????

Don't have time to post everything, but I'll make a few notes:

Big A should be scoring a lot more runs, AT, Stoney (big time) and C2 should score fewer.

AT's D should be better and Jeep's has been better than expected. Same with Silver.

C2's run diff is too high as is Stoney's. Big A is underperforming.

Records are hard to tell due to the very tight ratings. Stoney is way too high and I don't think Silver will play .667 all season. Hawk is also a bit high.

As for us, our Offense about right and the pitching has been good so I don't know why our overall is low, guess it's just a balanced league.

Got lucky sweeping Silver tonight. That'll bring my stats back into line a little bit. They can move fast if you get a hot streak. Not sure Silver helped his teams with his moves....

Why do you have to pick on me?

But you are right. Record is a little stronger than it should be. Only 2 blown sames and OB has been very strong at the top of the lineup. Those two thing change much and it's a different story.

I like my moves a lot actually, not in terms of results - too early - but in terms of process. The IP for Perez were way too high and Sheets was not adding much value, for a very specific reason I think. As a matchup Buerhle is tough in the same series when going with CC.

The sweep had a bit to do with my injuries - as I have maintained from the beginning, when I'm 100% healthy I should be tough to beat, when injured I'm vulnerable, it really comes down to that.

Yeah, it's totally too early to tell about the moves, but here's my thinking:

Sheets is a better pitcher than Buehrle. He's almost as good v LHB as Buehrle is against RHB *and* he's a LOT better the opposite way.

Coste is better than Hall.

Losing Rasner and Reyes (who barely pitched for you) is no big deal so Brocail should help and, as you point out, take IP from Perez. The gain there might be enough to offset most of the drop to Buehrle (in terms of rating anyway).

I guess I don't think that Buehrle is good enough v RHB this year to really make a difference in lineups for Sabathia or Buehrle. Also, I have six teams better v LHP. Only two teams (and yours) better v RHP. The other three are pretty balanced.

AND, it's not like you were playing bad baseball! ;) Just a curious time to make a move.

Not picking on you, just pointing out what the ratings say! ;) I have to say, I haven't looked at your team in any detail at all.

... I for one like to pick on Stoney!

In fact I'm going to get me some T-shirts that say:

On the front: Where do I get my Mojo?

and on the back: I pick on Stoney!

:P  8-)
