Suggestion For Upgrading Site

Postby hechojazz » Tue Mar 07, 2006 7:21 pm

While this would be a departure from how Strat-O cards have always been designed, I was just thinking that it would be cool to have a baseball card-like image of the player on his card. Your guys would be "your guys", in the way baseball cards were/are, know what I mean? This suggestion probably would mean some horrendous expenditure of resources, and would raise legal/copyright/blahblah, but like I said, I was just thinking...

It's a Strat-O-Matic CD Rom Feature.

You can download pictures to your hearts content and have the CD Rom game engine use them as a visual. It really makes the computer version fun. It's cool to see Roger Clemen's face on your desktop next to Derek Lee when you're ready to roll the dice.

Matter of fact, this website has an excellent collection of cards both old and new. I have them for my CD Rom version. It is really cool.

Be kind to the guy's website. I think he may have bandwidth limits.

BJS,
Great website link!!!! Thanks for posting it. Now I just got to get the CD ROM versions for the earlier years..., come to think of it, I don't have the one for this year or last years, yet, either. :(

Where you been hiding, Jim? I was starting to wonder if you were pulling a "DJ Trickster."

C'mon man. That auction draft didn't suck all of your life force out of you did it? :P I mean there's been no blast fence training reports or anything. Stay healthy and safe.

The one enhancement I would choose over all others would be home/road splits... This game desperately needs that and it would add dramatically to the gameplay.

I definately agree with the home/road splits point. I've got an '05 team running now in the Bob, with another Bob and two Petcos in the division. It would be great to be able to compare how my guys are faring in the two wildly different parks when I'm deciding on lineups.

If they added home/road splits every manager would tinker with their lineup EVERY day... I guarantee it... Upon adding home/road splits they could also have an option to have an A, B and C lineup that you could easily select per series so that you could easily toggle between between different variations (small park/big park) versions of your line-up.
