Great question. Obviously, we don't have to worry about Strasburg being signed by the end of this draft. But, others may sign before we're through.

I don't think it's anywhere in the rules, but I'd have to vote that any player that was not eligible prior to the start of our draft would still be ineligible until our next draft...it's only fair. What do the rest of you think?

I'm with you. Depending on when/if the individual signs, the timing of it may give someone an advantage. For example, say you have the next pick, then read that somehow Steven Strasburg just signed with the Nats - and you then jump on him. Doesn't seem fair to me.

Performance on the field (with our teams) should determine who gets what pick, and with that, what players are then available.

Yup, I'm all for,m if they weren't eligibale when the draft started they ain't eligible in the middle either, so if any of you are stalling hoping Strasburg or any of the others signs, forget it.

They won't be eligible until next year.

Sorry Splinter, but I'm a Phillies fan and I saw his first two starts. Great minor league numbers and an electric fastball - I just hope he continues to get better. The funny story is that I was at school and wanted to search for some more info on him during my prep period, and the school filter wouldn't allow me to search him because of his name - Bastardo. :lol:
