baker was next, but figured he'd make it back to me, so grabbed gerut. slow and steady turtle bleeded me from the other side. gerut would probably be gone too, but baker may be harder to overcome. oh, and thanks for the warning AL, from now on, im only drafting positions YOU need! that way I should get more of the guys I want.

I'm on the fence about it a bit, but I don't want to see Turtle get screwed, and I DO need a RH pitching masher to balance out Davey Wright, so if Turtle is satisfied w/ my next round draft choice, I'll swap it to him for a slugging southpaw first sacker....

Meanwhile, my first tour team has started 2-7, with my leadoff man THE 'BORG set to miss 18 of our first 23 games. Maddux, incidentally, Meat, has gotten ROCKED to the tune of a 20.25 ERA in two starts.

turtle's got until noon. obviously only one of his proxies made it, doubt he made that pick live at 2am eastern, although i can't remember which coast he's on. have to manually pick to skip, but wait til after noon, since clock doesn't officially start until 9am. turtle, "I have some good news and some bad news...1st, the good news, balmer's gonna bail you out and take the giant manatee off your back that looks like prince fielder in drag, after you somehow picked him in an NL ONLY league. the bad news...youre about to be skipped and miss out on some other fresh manatee meat."

Turtle's in Florida (I had guessed Chicago, because his favorite teams are the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks).

The real slugging first basemen are gone, with the selections of Fielder and Howard. What's left depends on whether one prefers defensive prowess (Casey Kotchman) or some hitting ability (everyone else). I debated beween Berkman and Holliday in the first round, and may regret my choice.

Very unlike Turtle.

I would encourage Tom to wait for him to emerge and communicate who he wants you to pick this round in exchange for Fielder.

I'll be offline for much of the rest of the day. I'll try to put in some proxies, but won't be able to put in enough to guarantee getting around to my next round pick.

P.S. Second base is also a thin position, as my ugly pick of Uggla proves.
