NLD XXII

Postby joethejet » Thu Jun 18, 2009 1:09 am

Wow, big sweep for C2 tonight. Smokey had crept to within 6 games and needed to at least win the series if not sweep, but got swept instead. Ouch.

27 to play, all intradivision. Stoney has almost clinched and is 8 games up in the home field advantage race to boot.

Silver is only 3 out in the West (and we play tonight) and has a 9 game lead in the WC.

Maybe things will tighten up down the stretch, but this has to be the most unbalanced NLD ever to this point. Only 4 teams are over .500!

Holy Cow, anyone else notice Stoney's home record?!?!? He's 50-19. For the math challenged, that' a +31!!!!!!

That's crazy ridiculous.

He's also closing in on 100 wins. Something done only once before in NLD history, by Abner in NLD 9. Wow!

Sorry for the silence on my end, but when you're losing as many 1-run games as I am and 20+ games out, and there's no shot at the WC, etc., etc,...well you get the point.

Glad you all who are actually winning are having some fun. I do not say that sarcastically either. I just want to be a part of that again one of these days.

Lord knows I do that when my team doesn't perform like I think it should! ;)

Thanks for chiming in, I was beginning to think I'd scared everyone away!

Lately I've been working 11 am through 2 or 3 am. Yesterday for example I got home at 6:45 am after starting work around noon. If I've been radio silent is just because I'm busy, tired and juggling too many chunky monkeys 8-)

Ok. Off again, today its from 4 til we drop :!:

Not so quick Smokey. Got a big sweep of C2 tonight. 7 back. Yeah, it's a stretch, but not impossible with 21 to play.

Course you'll have to catch Warrior too! It's a 3 team race to an extent, but C2 is going to have to really struggle to get caught.

Meanwhile, Stoney has clinched first with 21 to play! That *has* to be an NLD record!

The west is the same as it's been for awhile. Silver 3 back of Burgundy and a 8 game lead in the WC race. Looks like one of these two teams will take the WC.

Interesting to note that R. Branyan is only two homers off the league leader but does not have enough AB's to qualify for the batting title.

My squad has now lost 9 series in a row. "That" may be an NLD record. A dubious one obviously. :x :(
