I recommend a rule change. Have the divisions based on league and longitude. This league has real cities, they should be in realistic divisions. For many of us, this game brings up memories, and I would like to see the Expos in the same div as Phils, Cards and Cubs. Yanks, Red Sox and Cleveland belong in the same division. This system would better match reality and I don't see a competitve edge.

There are 7 NL teams and 9 AL teams. I would have the AL teams form the West, filled from west to east. The NL in the East, filled from east to west. (This is sounding like a Seuss poem). The remainder go in the Central.

Or better yet, wait to see which teams are selected and set up divisions that, as closely as possible, match up to 1969, as it was.

What do you think?

Actually, that's what I had in mind when I first set up the league, and it could still be done if the other managers concur.

Of course, back in those days, for whatever reason, Atlanta and Cincinnati were in the NL West, while St. Louis and Chicago were in the NL East. Was someone dyslexic when those divisions were determined??

Given that one plays 24 games against their division opponents, it would be nice to arrange for some rivalries (Yankees/Red Sox, Cubs/White Sox, Dodgers/Angels) should those teams be chosen.

I like the idea of having the teams be in a division with league opponents they would have faced in 1969.

We're full!! We'll go with this evening's Pick 3 results. As a reminder, order will be determined based on highest to lowest.

LM, you've done a good job in the past of posting Pick 3 results. Hopefully you don't mind taking this on again.

It sounds as if there is some interest in arranging divisions to allow for some rivalry competition. After we determine what twelve teams have been selected, we'll determine the makeup of the divisions based on everyone's feedback. The divisions will be arranged prior to the draft so that the managers can determine their draft preferences based on the stadiums within their division.

It would appear that we should be able to complete the draft and be able to start this league on Monday, July 13th.
