you can not add free agents now. The 25 man team you submit has to be made up of eligible players on your current roster plus the 4 guys you picked in the supplemental 'rookie' draft.

once the teams are submitted then a free agent period will occur.

I thought we could draft free-agents and undrafted rookies (I've got one free agent/undrafted in my draft list, FYI). I looked back at the 1971 Small Market thread and found this:

"jayhawk81 wrote:
Just so I am clear, I get to make my roster for 1971 from any of the 29 guys I currently own rights to plus any body who is a free agent and is eligible for the 1971 season (so undrafted guys from the rookie draft and guys without jobs from our 1970 season?

You are right Jayhawk. Exactly as you wrote it."

Who's our commish?

I'm the commish having replaced Paul from last season. You can attempt to draft free agents now, but you risk losing them if someone else drafts them. You still cannot touch any player on a roster at the end of last season as well as any player drafted in the 4 round rookie draft.

OK so I was a lot smarter in 1971, at 8 years old, than in 1973. So much for getting smarter with age.

We can draft FA's but Commish is correct, risk losing them.

Flaming Tellies ready to go

Dagummit, that sure makes it risky to do what I'd in mind.

Anyway, the MrKite is locked and loaded

Not that anybody's thinking about the '75 draft as we all seemed to be weary of this last one, but does anyone support the merits of opening future Rookie Drafts up to not only the rookies but the existing free-agent pool? Might seem silly since FA's have spent seasons being passed over but it would seem to give better flexibility in positioning one's squad. I'll bring it up at mid-season when we're thinkin' about '75

I'm in. The Central can load now. The password is Carter.

I'd prefer keeping the rookie draft just rookies and having free agents available to everyone during the autodraft. I think it's more realistic this way.

Texas Chainsaws are in the Central

Postby FAaron » Wed Jul 08, 2009 10:44 pm

Yes, I know I've been going with Vampire flix for the even year teams, but the only (barely) watchable ones in '74 were the Satanic Rites of Dracula (aka Count Dracula and his Vamipre Brides) and Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires, neither of which were classics by any stretch of the imagination. Nope, instead I went with remembering one of the greatest horror movies of all time, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Good luck in the season and look out for flying chainsaws!
